2005/2006 Skis are SICK!

This past weekend, David Bird and I had a chance to ride some of the new skis for next season. These are still first round prototypes, but wow. We have learned SOOOOO much in the last season about the skis, and what works and what wont work.

The new graphics are being modified a bit, so we are going to hold off on sending you all a page with them until we get them perfect. (this is the reason you havn't recieved them yet). We want you to be able to show them around local shops in your area, but not until we have them perfect.

The cores have been re-designed and they are bomber. The flex is still progressive (softer at tip/tail, stiff in middle third). Butter's are still easy to get off the ground, however the core is transferring much more energy to the pop out of butters as well on jumps/rails.

Like I said before, we are going to be testing some other core configurations and test putting some titanal (titanium alloy) in the ski for added rigidity and to better hold bindings in place.

We'll keep you updated on how prototyping is going throughout the next few months. If you have any ideas or suggesstions/comments, feel free to share them!

We actually ran out of rivits for the first set, but we are researching and testing all sorts of different types of rivits. Believe it or not, there are a lot of differnt types of rivits designed for all sorts of applications. We are testing a bunch of them to find the best possible setup for our application.

Do make a note that we are using a different type of resin (glue) to bond the materials together which has already prooven to be much stronger. The production lines will have rivits simply because they are necessary to keep our skis stronger and more structurally sound.

for sure, the rivits are a simple addition that adds a lot of good strength and rigidity. I would be willing to bet that all twin tip skis come out with them in the next few years. They just make sense.

I will put up some of the photos we got last weekend later on. I just have to get them from the photographer on Saturday.

hey i know we've already cover the 'this years skis may delam' thing, but i thought i'd just say that my choppers have started to do that crazy thing at the tip - just so you know it's not a weight thing (i had it in my head that maybe it wouldn't be such a problem with me because i was a smaller girl). just a word to the wise.

mmm I think its still a weight thing because i have gone through a couple pairs of stealths from delaming, and the usualy start to delam about 5 runs into the day....

Less of what you dont want, more of what you want. P-Crew.$

it isnt a weight thing necessarily, it is because of the massive camber and pop that the skis have, the tips and tails slap really hard, and that causes the split. The rivits will solve this problem.

it deffintaely isnt a weight thing, i weigh 120 pounds wet and i cant stop breaking them too. so judging by my weight its probabalt not that
