2003 salomon 1080s?

What are the new 1080s good for anyway?? If salomon was trying to make a park/pow ski I'll say right now that it's a worthless idea. It looks like a pocket-rocketish 1080! Does anyone know what the real purpose is?

was thinking the same thing about the new 1080's yikes! I love the geometry of the old ones.

Guys,you dont know what your talking about...The freestyle series of salomon is design with the cooperation of the 1080 international freeride team,wich include cusson,dorion auclair....So the day that you will have try the new 1080,you'll see that they are way better than those of this year...A LOT BETTER..

yeah they are..better than this year and better than a lot of skis..i ride bumps with them..im an ex bumper so i didnt really have problem with that..its sure that the old one,less wide were a bit better but anyway i have my 1080 mogul when i wanna ride bumps..

Sorry I have to say I competed on the older 1080 in the past and they were ok, but th enew ones (2003) suck. The tail is slopy, it feels graby and in general not a fun ski any more. Graphics look good, but the ski needs to go back to R&D and fix the problems. Just a personal comment!

hehe..well..the pros that design it like it...you prefer the rossis scracth..design by guys that porlly dont job and may be even dont ski.rossi put the ski on the market with a problem..they are not serious at all..theirs a plate of metal missing under the boot,thats why they all broke!!

Not saying that the Rossi is better, hell I have already broke a pair. (By the way the ScratcH was designed by the riders Hall, Raps, and other)

Salomon makes good skiis, just didn't care for the new ones! haha

 
the reason they shaped the 2003 1080's that way is to save weight, and if you have ever ridden the pockets you know how nice it is to save to extra weight.... it's the 'space frame' that makes it look like the pockets...

yea baker, totally. I have this years dorions and theyre wicked. I rode on the pocket rockets but they felt...i dont know.....sloppy. That might just be me, used to the 1080s i dont know. But im hoping theres a difference between 2003 1080's and last season's pocket rockets!

 
there is a diference..theres qhat you liked from the pocket rocket and what you liked from the 1080's...that makes the next year 1080..

'who gives a shit about moguls'?? not sure if i read that correctly...since the best skiers come from bump skiing background - M. Douglas, G. Plake, S. Szocs, J. Mosley...etc..hmmm
