2003 1080s really bad for all mtn.?

I've heard the new 1080s aren't good at all for the rest of the mountain? Is this true? I'm mainly concerned about groomed stuff, if its only powder they don't do well on I don't care.

 
I like them, I got a pair this year. I was on em up at blackcomb this summer on em to, and I liked them. I havent tried in pow yet tho. YOur from harrisburgh I see, were you at springs today?

 
naw they rock, i've been using the 181 since last april at whistler and that thing handled groomers, slush, powder and anythign else that was thrown my way, one of the best all mountain twintips in my opinion.

 
The 1080 is one of the better skiis out of the park but if u want a ski that really rips the mountain go public enemy.

I am not doing the grabs because I am getting a thrill out of touching my ski-JP Auclair

The '03 1080 is dope for pretty much everything that I've ridden. I've only had 5 days on it but it seems like a stronger all mountain ski to me than last years, and I even went from the 177 down to the 171. Its definitely a good choice but so are the Scratches.

 
I love the price of the PE, of course the graphics and the dimensions look promising but Im hearing that its basically a park ski, and thats not just from the peeps on ns. Fuck I really want a ski that can handle pow then hit up the park without changing skis. How much stiffer is this years 1080?

the ski has a one year warranty that is extended to 5 years if you put on their binding thats 5 yaers on the ski and binding.

Actually the 1080 is a better all mountain ski than park ski and it is awesome in powder and groomed the only place it comes up a little short is in the park.

 
the new 1080s will run good in pow and loose stuff, but for carveing there not the best, just because of there 80mm waist. if you are looking to arc better carves, go with sumtin thats thiner

 
the new 1080 is a great ride. Handles everything I have thrown at it. Theyre a little bit heavier than the previous 1080s so its a little bit more to throw around in the park.

The only problem that I know of with the 1080s and PocketRockets is that when youre ripping up groomers at fast speeds the torque you generate warps the space frame. The ski rides unchanged but you can get that warrentied.

 
The new 1080's are like 4-wheel drive, they go everywhere pretty good but on groomers don't expect to be arcing big turns. They're built more for flotation.

just make sure not to make the mistake of buying the system otherwise they r a great ski.

The New 10's are amazing, they go everywhere, no complaints yet, I find them a big improvement on last years, easier to spin on

 
The problem with the 1080's is the tail is super soft. I've got a racing background and the ski is not made for anything other than short radius turns so forget your all mountain label. I borrowed my brother's over the weekend and am thankful I am getting the PE's

The problem with this season's 1080's is that they have a foam core, which rides perfectly, but snaps really easily. My neighbor went through 5 pairs of Rosi's top race ski in one season because they have a foam core.

I have a pair of this years 171cm 10's and I am really happy with them. In the past I have ridden the 161cm and last years 178cm. Personally, the spaceframe skis seem to be as stable as the 178's at speed, but still able to make the same ultra quick turns that I could with the 161's. They really do well for me in crud too. They def. have my recommendation.
