I would like to hear what you guys think about it... I know that outside of the "hiphop lovers circle", the type of hiphop that really sells to young kids these days is the club/bangin hiphop shit... If you don't like these videos in the link, then that's cool, I would love to hear what you think about it, and why you don't like it. If you don't happen like the video then take a second to listen simply to the music and tell me what you think... I produce hiphop and I wanted to know what was going on the in minds of kids everywhere... (yes skiers too... lol). The greatest problem with bringing back the power that hiphop held for such a long time, is that a lot of kids have grown SO used to the stuff they hear on TV that hiphop has become a joke. I would agree... If I had never laid my hands on "The Illmatic" or "The Rude Awakening" I would have stopped listening a long time ago... but even Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin get a little boring after the millionth repeat... The music industry is at a low point right now, where the big corporate heads don't think that good music is necessary to make money... For the people who want to make a change: You have to support the artists that are creating the "Art" and maybe don't have the fanciest CD Cover, greatest posters, or most powerful promotion teams. With time hiphop will make a turn back to its roots... but this can only be done with the help of the listeners. So please check out the track and give me some feedback.

thanks!

I completely agree with what you say about the mainstream industry hip hop becoming a joke...I mean, half of the beats right now could be made by a 12 year old on fruityloops...in response to those 2 videos...I thought they were really good...I like it when hip hop artists showcase a meaning in their song that isn't along the lines of "don't fuck with me, I'm gangsta shit."

download the song by big stye called "its a problem," if u hate mainstream. he mocks the fuck out of every mainstream artist. might be hard to find since hes underground tho.

See that is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about... You LOVE the song... but you download it... Why not show the guy some respect for his hard work and BUY the album. It won't cost you that much, and it's worth it. There's a lot of kids going out there to buy 50 cent CDs when they don't realize that it's all bullshit. Go download THAT. He doesn't need any more money... the more he gets... the more "bling" he'll be swingin in your face and talkin about how he's got more than you.

underground hardly make money from their labels. their main source of revenue is from shows. but i see what you mean though and i agree. every little bit helps.

As far as promotion goes.. yes the Internet helps.

But these guys need to make money one way or another. Also, most underground guys are not signed to some BIG Label... if you buy that album, chances are a LOT of that money will go to the artist/producer.

So I have to disagree with the fact that buying their album is not effective.

here is what i do... i download some stuff, and if i like it enough, ill buy the cd. the most fair way of doing it i think.

I blame girls for the downfall of popular rap music. Older rap and hip hop isn't good for rubbing your ass on some duded crotch. New stuff is. Girls rub asses on crotches. Guys remember ass on crotch and buy the song that was playing. It's a conditioned response.

hah you would be surprised... a little Big Daddy Kane could make the ladies go crazy... even more so, because at least they wouldn't be called bitches and hoes in the song...

It's way more fun, romantic, and enjoyable...
