2 kinds of new schoolers. and YOU are the wrong one.

Hey guys... ive been a member on newschoolers for quite a bit of time and when i first saw this website i saw gold. endless ski videos and a community i fit into really well. This website meant so much to me. New friends, new tricks, new people, new companies. It all seemed really great...

But then, as i started to think about it, i realized that i do not sign into newschoolers for all the right reasons. The reasons the Admins probably thought of when they first made this website. this holy grail of potential. Instead, I started seeing kids tearing apart other skiers because of colors of their jackets, quality of their videos, and music choice. Honestly? MUSIC CHOICE. ITS SKIING!

Why do we have to over fantasize skiing with all of this fancy ass editing, making sure your Season edit has the PERFECT name, and paying someone hundreds of dollars to shoot and edit our video that will still get torn apart, criticized, and rejected.

Guys this is not what skiing is about. We have been seeing many threads popping up talking about this. And i agree with them. Im not expecting much to change with this thread. im a nobody. You all hate on Nobody's. They only people you care about are Orang Names. But just keep in mind that when Twall and all the OG's that were throwing down in the early 2000's, they werent throwing stupid effects into their edits at that time. it was about capturing as much of what their believe of fun was. being with friends, pushing eachother to do harder shit, laughing when it failed, and trying it again.

I am tired of seeing some unheard of kid on here posting pictures and only getting 4 thumbs up's when their is another person on here who is doing the same trick but has a $6,000 camera and some editing skills who gets over a hundred. Skiing isnt about the amount of likes you get, but honestly.. why not support our skiing community. why are there these "classes"

Everyone is guilty of these mentioned actions. Please just give it a thought before you push on through to posting a negative comment of down voting. Skiing is about fun, friends, and being free. Not hate

With over 1.3 million people passing through Newschoolers, you can't expect every single one of them to share the same outlook on skiing and life as you do. And hey, that's what makes NS (and skiing) so awesome!

Also, it's summer... and IMO your being a little too dramatic. Most of the top series on NS don't feature crazy expensive camera gear, megapros, or over-the-top epic editing. Totally Trevor, The Bunch, Hood Crew, Tabarnak Pack, and Goodenough are just a few examples.

fair enough.. and i am a very big fan of all your stated crews. i just think people turn skiing into politics.. they transform such a simple lifestyle into something so complex and intimidating for new people

You haven't even been a member for two years yet, haha.

But anyway, to start, people don't necessarily only care about orange names. You're more likely to get views if you have an orange name, but if the edit is sick and you're blue or pink, it will get views.

I don't necessarily agree with random "hate", but people have a right to downvote a video. And if a video gets a lot of downvotes and negative comments, it's usually because it's a shitty video. Which then will hopefully lead to the videographer becoming better over time, since they'll look at the comments and see what they can change.

I just simply disagree with most of the stuff you said.

So if everyone on here is the "wrong" kind of newschooler, wouldn't there only be 1 kind of newschooler instead of 2?

No you havent.

But like jason said, you're being dramatic. Have you adventured into any other popular Internet forums like reddit or 4chan? Youtube? The internet is about hating.

Because it best captures the skiing/tricks and is fun as hell to do.

Well, broooo, there are a huge amount of people in the community who find the most joy in skiing by filming or photographing it. If you don't like the fact that people actually enjoy themselves by making edits for their friends, then maybe you're the one who's thinking of it all wrong.

The really good videos will float to the top. They always have. Very few really great things on this website ever just go completely unnoticed.

And despite the reputation ns'ers have, it's extremely rare to actually see the hate over petty things like jackets or pants, or whatever. On the whole, NS is a hell of a lot better than most online communities.

And what everyone else said too....2 years on here is nothing.
