2 Different Bindings on 1 ski

have you ever have or seen someone who uses a different heel and toe binding? ex. scratch toe piece and a salomon sth12 heel piece.
 
I see this kind of thing all the time. Usually done by people who should know better. Generally a ski shop will not set it up because of all kinds of liability. You have no legal recourse even if one of the pieces is defective. In most cases it should work just fine as long as you don't have plates.
 
i mismatch my p18/fks pieces all the time. matching bindings are BORRRRING.

but 2 legitimately different bindings is a horrible idea.
