Mark (12) and Colin (15) Hendrickson are two brothers that I got a chance to coach and film this year. They are both amazing skiers and have soooo much potential. Any comments on any of my color correction or how the edits where put together is welcomed. Thanks everybody in M&A.

Only watched the first one. For the most part, the colors were on point. Some of the shots you blew your whites out but other than that, I enjoyed the flow of it.

yeah i did blow the whites on a few but most times it was on purpose to get some of the other colors i wanted. Make sure you watch both of them though. The second one has less color correcting but the skiing is off the charts.

Wow, Screamin seamin was amazing, as far as the color i would agree with honeybadger, the skiing was dope though.

colors at 2:20 were so sick. I would change the rest of the shots to that type of grading. The b/w shots didnt really fit in. Otherwise that was so dope!

i........fucking........hate.........my.........life........after...........watching........the........second............one.........i loved that shit, fuck mark is too good

probably the 5 time i have watched the second one i think the most i like about that video is the ski at sunshine when he does the screamin seamen, god dam i love that shit

those were both soo dope dude! nice work.

1.

-you always have really rad colors, but as others have said the whites are blown out a lot. i know you said this was intentional, but i feel like you could probably achieve the colors you want without losing so much snow detail. it just kind of strains the viewer's eyes because we search for any snow detail. It's just kind of awkward to see a skier floating in a sea of white. For instance, I thought the shot at 00:36 had really, really sick colors, and you could even see a little snow detail. if you could bring the highlights down a tiny bit more, that would be even better.

-maybe some audio over the opening titles would have been nice. just felt a little empty to me

-filming was spot on all the time, no complaints there.

- sometimes the skiing audio didn't all sound like it was at the same level. couple times where it was too loud, like at 00:59. with a clip like that , the brief sound of him coming into the feature was harsh (sounded loud and icy for some reason). what you could have done was only included audio of when he tapped the corrugated tube thing; just isolate that key audio moment. it was also a little too loud at 2:11.

2.

-i think the opening titles would have been a little better if they didn't fade over each other.

-filming was incredibly sick once again

-noticed the same thing with audio as in the first

-the inconsistency in color at 00:26 was a little jarring. if you're going to be switching color grading depending on the shot, you should grade shots of the same feature the same, in my opinion at least.

-shot at 00:32 was unbelievably banger

-holy fuck that kid is good

thanks a ton for all the comments Will. Im definitely going to try and work to get those same colors and not loose as much definition in my whites. Yeah can you imagine having those two kids to coach. There isnt much I can say to them anymore other than telling them what to practice but not how to because they both have a bigger bag of tricks than myself so thats why just filming is easier/better haha.

1.

-same deal whites kinda blown

2.

-I would change the opening titles. the looked kinda amaturish, like someone threw something together on windows movie maker. they just didnt really fit the profesionalism of the rest of the edit.

-the blue film burn was a cool idea.

-I would colour grade some more of the shots where hes mainly against the sky the way you did 2:30, but maybe a little toned down so its not as sudden.

on a side note: the 12 year old kid is fukin nuts. he absolutly destroys willie borm and seamus flanagan. the dont hold a candle to him. he could win those under 13 contests hands down.

haha he won the K2 PG13 last year while he was 11. And he won almost every big air/ slope contest he went in this year
