1st try 1440

personally i thought it was ugly as hell and he should have dont a 7 or a 5 or 3 that bit

and saying what i just said had nothing to to with tj he is a good guy and a great skier but still i find switch 14's to be very unprogressive. its just hucking yourself to the absolute max
 
by pure assumption i presume u do switch 14s on a daily basis being they are far easier to pull and land than say a 720 is that correct?
 
why does every single trick every single pro throws have to be judged solely on progression? can people not admit that although they don't want skiing to head in that direction, that trick was pretty goddamn ill?

wow... did i say it wasnt sic? i said it was ugly in my opiinion, i said i didnt think it was the right direction for the sport to be taking but hell thats just my opinion to each his own i suppose.

Alright so, first things first...switch 1440...holy fucking shit, that is fucking intense...I don't understand how it is possible. And I'm surprised he managed to get in a grab and make it look less hucked than most switch 10's. But I just think there is more room for progressing besides adding more rotations...it is a sick trick, I just hope that we will still be able to see new variations of 5's and 7's in the future...I would be more stoked to see a switch rightside cork 7 with a shifty at 3 landing in a carve looking like you never left the ground...so yes, props Mr. Schiller, but I hope we stop spinning further for now, and make our spins we have dialed look...well...BETTER!
 
i agree with you... but it was hucked.. more so then most switch 10's, but still, you have the idea...i love you matty.
 
serious....last year no one was grabbing through a whole 10 except schiller pretty much. still no one is and schiller does it 1080 through a 1440

Tj Schiller does a switch 1440 with a grab the whole way through that is sic and fuckin i didnt think that would get done but still in my opinion it was hucked. i would rather have seen a 5 or a 7 that big. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN I DIDNT THINK IT WAS CRAZY AS A MUTHAFUCKA. it was crazy. i just dont want the sport to become a huckfest. thats all..

I do shit for two reasons

A: scares the shit outta me

B: feels fun (may look lame but if i feel good about it, fuck it)

if it feels good, thats all i worry about. Im not saying, shit i NEED a right sw 10 before the end of the day. Progression in skiing is actually retarded in my views.
 
oh yeah...and the trick was smooth and sick as hell.

Did anyone else thing a sw 1440 could look that good? No, didnt think so.
 
Keegan you have posted on this thread way to many times. The trick was not 'Hucked'.period. And to say you would rather see a switch 5 in a big air comp?. hmm a trick that any 14 year old kid can do these days or a trick no one has ever seen before. I'm thinking the people would want to see something new AND progressive( which it was). The athletes switch 5's 7's etc. will continue to get progressive with new styles and 'shifties' like you said but they will also continue to try new things.
 
that is a valid opinion my friend but in my opinion it was hucked and i find that there is no denying it. and if u can find one 14 year old that can go as big as tj went and has style like him that can do a five, well i will give you a lollipop my friend.

YOu have to remember, though, that it is a big air contest. Things like riding away smoothly and having that nice floaty look take a backseat to amplitude and sheer intensity. I'm not saying that its all about spin to win - laurent's cab 7 was probably the sickest run in the prelims - but a huuuge switch 1440 with a nice grab and decent landing, that's the kind of crazy shit that should win big air.

I personally don't think it has anything to do with "progression" or even with the way skiing is going. Its big air, man, just a bunch of pros showboating and trying to outdo each other.

Not to put TJ down at all because that was a sick trick but big airs at times can be the one hit wonder show. I get what keegan is saying, it didn't look hucked but if TJ has never done a switch 1440 before then it wasn't normal... Big air comps are to blame here for the progression everyone complains about, slopestyle and pipe you see progression along with freeriding
 
dude that is the gayest thing you could say...."ehhhh id like to see you do that ehhh ehhhhh ehhhh" so upon saying that are you saying you can do a cab 1440 or a cab 7 with that much style ...TJ is a pro im sure keegan isnt plus i can think of a fuck load of "pros" that could cab 7 way way way better style wise than that aboination of skiing....(also nothing against TJ hes a dope guy)
