1st time skiing with the girlfriend

So my girlfriend was interested in why i love to ski so much so i decided id take her with me and she thought it was a great idea. I put her on a pair of beginner skis (my mom's) and cranked the DIN down to save her legs from any issues. We drove up to Jiminy Peak yes it sucks but its the closest mountain worth going to after 12, and not a bad place to learn. SO a couple runs in on the "Novice" lift and shes loving it and doing surprisingly good. Stopping on a dime and turning with better form than expected. So a little later she decided she wanted to go to the top which the terrain isn't that difficult so we went up. Were going and doing fine, she handled the steeper terrain with no problem and again ill say she was doing awesome, i felt good that she was sharing my feeling about skiing and that i have a partner to go with when nobody else wants to ride. Anyways back to the story, so nearly halfway down it gets to some icier sections, pretty bad ice that an experienced east coast ice rider would kno just ride through it. Ice to sticky snow to more ice she took a really bad fall (first fall on the top) bindings didn't release but the angle they prob shouldn't have, and her leg hurt her really badly. She had to be taken down by the ski patrol which were assholes basically just made her sign a bunch of paperwork saying "don't sue us" didn't help her leg at all, finally i pulled my car around and there saying shit like i hate honda's, make her sit in the back seat and rearrange all my shit. I just wanna get the fuck out of there at this point pull into the gas station and put her in the front seat like she wanted to so she didn't have skis poking her in her face. Overall shitty experience with ski patrol they are horrible, fucking icy conditions ruined the night, and were waiting on MRI results, the doctors think she tore her ACL or MCL.

FUCK,,, i need some positive vibes or something

just thought id share my story.

that sucks, i hope she isn't blaming you for it. and acl tears hurt, a lot. if she wanted to sit in the front seat it couldn't of hurt that bad, so maybe thats some good news. best wishes for a speedy recovery.

yea shes a mad cool girl to try things like that it was even pretty cool to ride with her and see how much she was enjoying it.

and to the guy above you shes not blaming me for it at all wich is good shes being pretty cool about it but deff buming. hopefully its a mcl or maniscis (sorry for spelling) thats was faster recovery apparently

her parents are actually pretty chill they aren't blaming me at all and surprisingly really like me

jiminys patrolers arent the best guys in the world but they try and do their job. good vibes to you and your girlfriend though.

Haha, that's funny.
But seriously, that sucks man. +Good Vibes to your girlfriend and you for a speedy recovery from this accident.
At least yours went with you. Mine doesn't want to but if I tell her this she never will.

+++vibes. as long as neither her nor her parents are blaming you for it your fine. hope its nothing serious though

About the paper work, they have to do it, same thing at all resorts its part of the job. Sucks though, hopefully it doesnt keep her from going again

my friends mom tore her acl i think and i saw her right after and she said it didnt hurt it just felt weird and she said it felt like something was wrong. ski patrol told her she was fine probably because she wasnt in pain but she still went to doctors and they told her what was up. But it might not have been acl i forget. idk something in her knee. its weird how she wasnt in any pain tho.... vibes to your gf

lol, shit that blows man. hopefully she doesnt hate skiing now and will continue on after she heals up and gets better so you can shred with her.

++ vibes all the chicks around her think skiing is gay and snowboarding is for cool kids WTF do they know.

++ vibes. Take good care of her and she'll give you anything you want when she's better. Girls like the small things ya digg.

Your a good bloke, taking your girl skiing. Once it heals up you'll be right. It's a pretty cool thing when your girl gets it and starts to ski well. Last day of the Aussie season my wife got nailed in the knee flat out by a snowboarder and put her out really hard. We've spent the Summer doing rehab exercises so we can ski Japan in Feb. I thought it was the end for her, but now she just wants to get stronger and faster - siiick!!!Vibes to your girl!

The thing to remember about skiing with a gf - EVERYTHING is your fault.

If its a bluebird day, and the snow is great, then no probs. But if her boots start to hurt, or she gets cold - your fault. If the weather's shit - your fault. If the lines are too long or the runs are too busy - your fault. The list goes on.

Women. Can't ski with them, can't take them into the woods and bury them in a treewell. (Wait, did I say that out loud?)

Ya thats shitty how the ski patrol are there, they could care less how hurt you are, as long as you dont press charges.. its all about the money... +vibes

My girlfriend was a decent snowboarder when I met her, but wanted to ski so after a while got her all the shit. She has improved a lot, she can ride switch and do 180. (really shitty switch and 180's on the ground.)

So she can keep up and take on pretty much any resort terrain. Girls are not like guys though. I could have a guy hitting jumps on the second day up. Girls just don't listen, It's like all girls have a retardation in their ability to develop muscle memory.

So unless you have a girl that is very different, or half dude, the best you are ever going to get is some one who can keep up. Word to the wise, get a buddy with a girl of the same skill, problem solved.

crazy parallels. my gf came out to colorado to visit me over christmas break and two days ago we were skiing at keystone. she had skiied a little bit on the east coast but never anything like CO. she was doing awesome though and killing some blues and then she just had an unfortunate fall and tore her acl and mcl. well good vibes bro

that's how mine is too, she just laughs about skiing. I wish there was a girl out there that at least liked to ski.
but ++vibes to you dude. icy conditions suck and catch you by surprise. Happened to me a lot at Berkshire East, but it's been good there this season.

ouch that sucks man ill throw some +vibes your way, it sucks

Monday the doctors give us the MRI results so fingers crossed.

... As for the sex its no crying corpse and it definitely works (;

...just gotta be careful with some positions hah

this might just be me,but i recently tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus, and there wasn't a whole lot of pain involved, surprisingly. with the exception of getting up and trying to walk on it. once they get her in a brace ( which i hope they did) the only pain i could feel was a little dull pressure from the swelling. +++++++ vibes man. my girl skis as well, and it would be so shitty to be in such a position.

you can go your whole life with a torn ACL if it's not a terrible tear, you just can't do much, you need to wear a brace for everything, and you're prone to tearing your meniscus because without an acl there's basically no lateral support in your knee

yea i know, i didn't just randomly set the din i put her in the skis and we made sure it was easy enough to pop out of them before we left.
