I had a pair of neon green dynastars - non parabolic. I still have them, but with no bindings. I want to keep them because they were my first skis, and would like to make something cool out of them. Any ideas?

my first were a pair of k2's with mickey mouse on them. i was about 4 years old. i still have them. they have some really cool retro type bindings. my first twins were the blue mike nick pros. both were awsome. i turned up the the back on my old k2's so now they are mini twins.

 
My sister had those mickeymouse skis, except I think hers were mini mouse, they were like 105 Cm or something.

I started skiing when I was three and my first pair of skis were Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck skis. They were like 90-100cm and they were hella sick. My first pair of Twin-Tips were Dynastar Candides.

i think had blizzard v something or wht.... i can't remember. Anyway i got new ones because i fell and one of the bindings tore our of the ski

Buying a pair of twins like the darkside, the 1080, or the 1260 as your first pair of skis seems like a real waste to me. Learn to ski half decent first

 
My first pair....i think an old pair of Elans. The first pair i remember was the classic Atomic ARC, not the parabolic one but the early early ones from the early 90s. Those babies were sweet, all neon cool graphics, but they delamed right away from hitting jumps so i ductaped the tips. i agree with the dude above me, i cant believe some of your first skis were twinnies, that kind of sucks. they arent the best skis for learning on

 
Skis are a pretty big investment for most of us. You can learn on any skis pretty much, so why waste (yes there are SOME benifits to beginner skis) your money on a beginners ski only to realize the next season that they aren't gonna do the job.

When I sarted skiing at the age of three there were no twin tips (yeah I know about the Olins), so I learnd on little kid beginner skis. But if I had never taken up the sport until this very day and decided to learn how to ski this winter, and I really wanted to learn how ski and land switch, then I would buy twinips for sure.

This is especially true in a sport where advanced equipment, for the most part, isn't much more expensive then equipment designed for beginners.

I had a pair of K2 VPR's, they were, uh, alright- at the time I thought they were great, they were rental skis that my dad bought for really cheap for me when I was young, they had 7 or 8 K2 logos running up the front of the ski, changing color from yellow to red...fuck yeah.

i had a pair of rossi junior race skis with tyrolia bindings. they must ahve been about 100cm. i sold them many years back and this year they showed up at my local hills ski swap. good memories, i passed up the chance to buy them, should have but didnt. i remember when my rents bought them for me, i didnt care what skis i got so long that i had the rooster on the tip. i found out years later that the rooster was the rossi symbol. all i wanted was the rooster
