188 Arv 106 too long?

Hey guys I'm looking for a pair of all mountain jibbin skis for this year. I already have a pair of 178 line blends for park and I'm thinking something a little stiffer than a noodle and a little wider for light pow days (I already have a deep pow ski). I have a buddy willing to give me a spankin deal on a pair of 188 arv 106s (2017). I am 5'8' 155. Wondering if the skis are gonna be to long. Swing weight is my main concern for spinning off side hits and stuff.

Also if people have ideas on different skis I should be looking at lmk.

Honestly, these are way too long. Im 6'1" I ski 184s confidently, I can ski 188 but personally I feel like they are too long for me.

Yeah im just mainly concerned they'd be too unwieldy for spins and flips not a big guy so I dont have much weight to throw around. I need ta be able to do my backs and fronts ya know

Way too long for 5’8 I would stick with high 170s or really low 180s, but it’s all about how it feels see if u can ride them before you buy them

Yeah I ride shredditor 120 189s and I can ride em. Buts that’s big mtn powder. Hard to spin em without big air and though.

Maybe if you’re a weenie or you only ride park. Anything under 184 feels pretty short to me at 5’9”

True I only really ride park so thats understandable

I weigh the same as you, and ski the 188 arv 106. Honestly doesn’t feel like a 188, more like a 185-186. I like the extra length for landing in choppy sections.

I am 5’10” 160 lbs and I have the 106’s in 180 cm. I live in Missouri and only get 7-16 days a year, so I am not an extremely strong skier. 188’s would be too much for my chicken legs to handle. Did you end up with them?

Honestly I'm 6'0, and the 188 (which is their longest size) would probably be the perfect length for me for every day on the mountain. Hard to imagine that it would also be the perfect length for someone 4" shorter and 20lb lighter, but NS would likely disagree.
