186 J Skis The Metal

I bought the last pair of 186's available this year. Check out blistergearreviews on em. Pretty accurate. Easy and playful with a decent amount of stability. Definitely not a charger, but also not a noodle. Skied for 3 days and in near new condition, minus one mount for 317mm with FKS on the line. Maybe premature, but I am pretty sure these are going to be well above average durability. Just didn't do enough differently than the rest of my skis.

Topsheets: 9.5/10

Bases: 10/10

Edges/sidewalls: 9.5/10

$450+ship

You cannot find these anywhere else, and I spoke with Jason Lev before purchasing, and there are no changes planned for next year (even the graphic). He also assured me these will not get marked down at any point in the season, so $700 is the price of admission next year

"Definitely not a charger" ... Lies. I have the vacation, same ski with no metal in it so definitely softer, and it charges hard AF. You can go as fast as you want and send whatever the fuck you want on these bad boys.

^ i meant hat as in it is not like a cochise or belafonte or the like, but yes, it doesn't have a problem with speed!

You are right, I'm not sure what the heck he's talking about, neither the Vacation or Metal is a charger.

That said, bump because you mentioned Blister, glad you liked the review!

And because those graphics are beautiful.

I guess it depends on how you define charger but I think its silly to presume a ski has to have a stiff flex profile or a long turn radius to be a "charger". I can blast crud and chop as hard on my Vacations as I can on my Blizzard Spurs. Just because a ski is playful doesn't mean it can't charge.

Kinda hate how J doesn't do skis by year. There's never a chance to get them for cheaper besides the factory blemish.

Except... Except... Wait for it... Buy these!
