185 VS 178 Line Blend for Park

Hey guys so I've decided on the Blends for my ski this season. I am 150ib 5'8.

I will be using the ski primarily for park and just cruising around the mountain hitting jumps and playing around. I am center mounting them.

178 seems more appropriate for my size however I know these skis are soft and I'd like some added stability on natural terrain jumps, and the park which is my main focus. The jumps at my home mtn are a little smaller in the 30-40 range, but I hit bigger stuff too. I do hit rails but its not my main focus but i'd still like to play around with nollies and butters and stuff.

I am concerned mainly about the weight of the 185's which according to evo is 2021g. Which is a lot to ski in the park. Chronics are like 1700g.

Just seeing if there is anyone out there about my size who rides blends or similar ski and can tell me what they have and what they like/dont like about the size they got.

well the 185s are more like 180s and they are pretty soft and as I always say, short skis are for pussies.

5'8" is like 172 cm

the weight isnt that big an issue, but getting the 178 is already sizing up for your height. what makes you think you should size up again to 185 for park skis? 178 is more than enough, and this is coming from someone who likes big skis

Well I was mainly thinking of sizing up because line runs a little short. Plus since they're real soft the added length might make em more stable landing big stuff. I see where you're coming from though.

i think the sizing up to 178 will take care of that just fine. if theyre not big and badass enough for you at that point, then it's time to consider a different ski, not just add more length IMO. and like i said, dont get me wrong, im all about bigger skis. but adding 13 cm seems like overkill for a park/resort ski

I would say 185 because long skis are legit. But those are some wide, solid skis. You shouldn't need more than 178. Unless you're planning on getting taller or fatter
