$185 for a speeding ticket?

V1's are good at picking up a signal but are awful to use. In the day time the sun lights up the red dots, it's hard to tell which band is going off unless you've used it for years, plus it goes off at every bogus signal. I had a bel rx65 for years, it finally stated to crap out, bought a V1 and hated it. then got the escort one with gps lockout and its honestly the best one, no more false alarms, the band is easy to identity when it's going off. My car also has auto shut off at lights and it doesn't need an adapter like the v1 to prevent it from powering down. Just saying I didn't find the V1 practical at all, except the arrows, those were nice.

Really? I love mine. I have the hidden display that mounts to the top of my steering column. I've never had any problem not knowing the band type. Around my town the hypo's like to sit at several speed traps where we also have those nice little "Your Speed" signs. The signal counter is super nice in those situations. I'm pretty happy with my Valentine 1 over all. I guess I would rather have false alarms than a ticket. It's a trade off.

Yea I imagine the dash mount would help a lot. I just had the main unit on the windshield and in the day time it looked like it was always alerting.

With the escort's gps feature you can have it block out the "our speed" frequency so you still get the cops radar. It comes in handy if you happen to get lazy and used to an alert at a certain spot.

Oxford county is really bad for cops especially if your on r2 going through rumford and Mexico. I got pulled over three times in rumford for random "check ups" and pulled over and ticketed for failure to dim. I don't even ever speed cause I know I can't afford it and I don't act like a dick on the road or to the cops either

Mine is much more modern:

10 over going 70 in a 60 on highway 18 in washington got me $138. Got pulled over by a motorcycle cop on her period I guess. It was also the end of the month which is bullshit.

Got an 87 in a 55 a few years ago. Was going to lose my license because of a previous ticket (49 in a 30) but went to court and got it reduced to 59 in a 55. It was still a $185 ticket.

I have, from work, they are a lot more elaborate then just a radardetector, they also register ride information and compile that into charts, it's not vital for a lease car but very very handy.

myth. most jurisdictions explicitly prohibit quotas. although it is certainly arguable that they exist in some places....unofficially, of course.

all construction zones on illinois interstates are a joke. if it's a 45 zone, i guarantee 95% of cars are going at least 65-75 through it.

i got nailed because it was out where i lived in the boonies. a cop was camping on the side of the road and i was the only car visible within miles. boom, $375 ticket + $225 in court costs.

Truth. Quotas are a thing of the past. However, in South Dakota the highway patrol recognizes their officer by the amount of DUI's and speeding tickets they write. I really really really don't like the Highway Patrol.

Don't speed? I only ever do 5 over tops.

Last 3 times I got pulled over was when I was a DD. Funny shit, cop thought he was catching a drunk then NOPE, completely sober dry. So they'd make up some other lame excuse such as, here's a warning, cause you didnt stop at that stop sign long enough (2 seconds instead of 3) hahah.

I recently got my first ticket for 11mph over and got a $210 ticket for that and 4 points of my license then he hit me with another $210 for too many people in the car with a probationary license and took off 3 more points. $420 for 11 over and i only have 5 points left.

$3,000+ fucking dollars? I can see how guys that run exotics/super cars could justify something like this but holy shit that's insane

the first thing you see when you go to their website is "THE MOST EXPENSIVE SPEED TRAP PROTECTION EVER BUILT"

uhh thanks for the FYI. I'm no marketing major but I'm pretty sure if that was my product it would say something like "YOU'LL NEVER FUCKING GET CAUGHT" or "BEST TICKET AVOIDER SINCE GIVING A COP AN OTPHJ"

This thread just saved my life.... I forgot that I had a $50 parking ticket, and today is the last day to pay it. +K to you sir

There is a reason it's priced the way it is. It's the best. The only thing that comes near is their own legendary DSI that has existed for almost 8 years now.

The range at which it detects is insane: usually around 1,8km away, never less then 1km.

Also it's undetectable by the devices the police use to find radardetectors.

And if for any reason they are going to search your car: one click of a button and the radardetection part of the software is erased making it 100% legal.

Besides the radar detection it registers your km for business and private use of your car and compiles that into charts, extremely handy if you lease a car and use it in private as well. No more writing charts and carefully logging the miles yourself.

bump

63 in a 45 last night, statie took my license for bond on the speeding ticket because it was after curfew, came away with a 120$ ticket.

From what i understand if i go to court and plead guilty and get court supervision for 6 months the ticket gets wiped off, anyone have an experience with this?

Also anyone have state farm and know what the punishment is for the first speeding ticket?

usually whoever gets the fewest gets stuck working the desk for the next month. That's why at the end of the month there's a rush to avoid the bottom.

if nothing else we should be thankful for that. It's like having a schedule. If they enforced it as strictly all the time (which they are supposed to) then everyone would be racking up tickets nonstop.

fuck this I got a ticket 3 years ago when I overtook a car on the wrong lane with my scooter. it wasnt stock so the ticket was doubled... the final ticket was like 280$. and then a 2 months after they changed the road because they had too many complains about how shitty the lanes were placed. fml

Things like this happen all the time. They're technically not "quotas" but what the fuck is the vial difference.

Also, your signature made me laugh. I'm an original owner too.

/claim.

The difference is that there is no lower limit. One month the bottom man might get 10 violations, and the next month its 25. So overall if fewer infractions occur, the number varies..if there was a strict quota they'd have to hit it no matter what, and as such would resort to desperate measures.

The og lanyards are where its at. Won't retire mine until I can get a new line green and pink one!
