181 or 186

sorry to make yet another on3p Jeffrey 108 sizing discussion. I am 5'10 and about 145 pounds. I have had a pair of Kartel 108s in 176 for the past couple of years and am definitely ready for a bigger size. the problem is I want to have these skis for a while and I may still grow an inch or two. I ski quite hard and fast in primarily soft snow or softer chop but am still doing tricks. I primarily ski at a resort in interior bc with a fair bit of tighter terrain but lots of open stuff to pin 'er on (red mountain). I know the 186 would be a pretty big ski for me and I am leaning towards the 181 but am very curious to see what ppl have to say
 
Red Mountain is one of the few places that, if I was to take another trip there, I would bring a shorter size than I typically ski on. The terrain up there is tight and I got beat up during my last trip up there.

I ride the Meridian & Deathwish in the 187 and 190 lengths, respectively, literally everywhere I go. Next time I will be bringing a shorter length, just something to consider. 6'2 150 lbs semi-aggressive skier.
 
I'm 5'9" 165lbs and ride Jeffrey 96 in a 181, as recommended to be by ON3P customer service. Give them a message if you're super unsure. Not sure I would ride too much longer, personally, unless I go to the 116s, they feel perfect for me.
 
long skis are great but only if you know you want em big

you're 5'10" and likely still growing, you say. get the 181, that's a great size for you and already a little taller than you. if you grew even 2 full inches and still were on those skis they'd still be fine
 
Depends if u think u can turn 'em. Realistically there's no point in getting a bigger ski if u arent using the whole thing. And a bigger ski just means it's heavier making it harder to do stuff. BUT if u think ur gonna grow that's a tough bet.
 
181s are going to be way more manageable at 145lbs. Everyone wants longer skis, but I'd go for the 181 if I were you, especially if you are throwing some tricks.

I’m 5’8”, 160. The 181s might be better if you wanna ride them in the park a bunch but I’d say giver on the 186s if you have a park ski. They ski pretty short.
