Hi everybody,

i want to ask something maybe a lil stupid but it is important for me.

i am 18 years old, and i really want to learn freestyle skiing.. actually i ski since i am very young but i have never tried to do some tricks. I just do maybe some 180, but that's all...

my question is : isn't it too late to learn? i mean i want to be able to do easily tricks like switch 540 and switch 720 with grabs.. when i see all these guys who are 14, 15, and who already do cork 10 i am just exasperated..

thx !

I am 21 and just started skiing, its all depending on how dedicated you are to the sport if you push yourself then there's no limit. 18 is not old by any means, there was a pro a little while back who started skiing at the age of 23 and now hes pro at 27 so yea. there ya go

hell naw dude! My room mate's dad is 48 and just started park this year and is doin some sick spread eagles off the medium jumps in the main park... lookin to spin next season. Its never too late to learn.... usually just to late to make a career out of it. Just do what ever is fun though man, thats what its all about, if you wanna learn a sw5, then push yourself to learn it. It can be shitty sometimes tryin to learn new tricks, but trust all the shit you go through, once you stomp the fuck outta that trick, it all goes away and turns to pure euphoria and all of the sudden you want more. So gratifying and if you are in it just to have fun ( which most people should be) then you got nothing to lose! Go have a blast!

Im feelin inspirational right now... perhaps its the pendelton talking... btw anyone else on here had it before? Puts crown royal to shame IMO.

/drunken rant

blah!

come back snow!

/drunken after rant.

not at all! i'm 23, just learned a 9 this season (can't do a save 3 yet :D)

u have the basics of skiing, so it's nothing new for you!

go for it and keep pushing!

Yeah dude, I'm a bit over 30 and bought my first pair of twin tips last season. I nailed 180s and 3s and I can grab. This Aussie season I'm looking to learn some rails, bigger 3s and maybe 5s. Also want to learn to nose butter...

I can only really 270 but i'm working on bringing it all the way around. life doesn't stop at 18 so neither should my rotations. you can do it. it just hurts more when you falll

I'm turning 18 this summer. I started skiing park last year. My body is still perfectly able to go big and not have to go home after a few bone-rattling crashes. Maybe I just have a higher tolerance to pain than others or maybe I'm a late bloomer, but 18 years old is a great time to learn before it's too late. You aren't going to have to constantly adjust to size changes each year, you'll be able to get up to the mountain more (less school commitment/more freedom), and hopefully will be more mature about the whole park rat scene.

Just have fun with it!

I'm 23 and I hope to keep progressing through the age of 30. If not, how will i ever do a double cork? And they look so god damn fun im not going to quit until i can do one

18 isnt old at all man! i learned how to ski in feb of 08. im 19 now and keep learning new stuff everyday! so do it to it!

I got my first pair of twins when i was 18 and im 26 now still learning new tricks. I spend more time on rails then in the air now but its still a rush
