Sorry, but I don't have an mercy for someone who is that dumb. How in anyones mind it would ever seem like a good idea for an 18 year old white girl to go to Mexico by herself to try to learn about and potentially get involved in illegal human trafficking is beyond me.

Okay I would just like to clear this up before anyone else gets this incredibly stupid idea of "you go to Mexico you die." The American media has been so hopped up on the drug wars that they make Mexico seem like a constant battlefield.
Mexico is almost no different than the US. You don't want to be a white person at night in Tijuana just like you don't want to be in Detroit, Baltimore, etc. I bet a lot of people that are spewing out this nonsense have never been to Tijuana or anywhere outside Cabo. As long as you aren't like this girl and looking for criminal activity in Mexico, you are fine.

Cept for the coruption, thousands of deaths from gang violence, utter lack of police control, direct and deadly attacks against the police, army and other government personel. While some of that happens in the states, it's on a way smaller scale.

granted you were in a way different place in mexico than she was. every country has its bad areas... it just so happens that mexico has a greater number of those areas.

since you threw out baltimore as a mega ghetto city, i would like to say that i have lived 30 minutes outside of b-more for the last 9 years.. i've been into the ghetto (lexington market, holy balls) and there is no where near as much poverty as any given border town...
