oh and as for the comment about centermounting longer skis fucking knees up.... Fact
crashing backwards is how knees get messed up, or "backwards twisting falls" aka that 5 gone wrong or when you slid around and got all fucked up... Longer tails equal more torque on the knees. You might ask why this is a problem as bindings release, but they have a really hard time releasing switch. that's why line came up with their binding and "pivogy" it released sideways on the rear too, just like if your toe were to come out. that is why they sucked, you could pop out whenever, but it saved ACLs. Tyrolia (which also makes fischer and head bindings) has gone one step beyond line and has heel release, but they stay locked until the heels lift at least a little bit. hope that helps.
