172 ELIZABETH VS. 179 LIVE LIFE 2

Which of these would be best for a kid who is 5'8" and already has park/all-mountain skis and wants powder/backcountry jibbing skis? Pros and cons of each? Thanks...

My bacons measured at least a few cms shorter than posted, so if you're agood skier, you could probably handle them. If you keep growing, you may find the lizzies to be too soft for BC use. And as for LL2s, they are similar, maybe a bit stiffer, but a great ski. Choice really comes down to rocker or not. Good luck

If you already have your park ski and want a powder jib ski, then the LL2 for sure. The main reason being the massive and super-fun rocker, reinforcing that is its ability to slay the entire mountain 1000 times better than ep's or bents after the powder is gone. Super light too, id go 179 for your height. Im 6'2" and ride 189's centered.

at 5'8 you could handle 179 bents or ll2's because of the rocker.and bacons measure out too 178 so you could easily handle those and they are way better in pow than lizzys.
but who could resist the bents that are going for 350 right now brand new

i went from bacons to live life twos... LL2s are so much lighter and fun defiantly get them instead of Elizabeths

i have the elizabeths right now, awesome ski super fun! a bit short for really deep powder, im 6'0" and 160 lbs but they still float nicely. very light ski.

only con id say is the build quality is total crap. topsheet chipped on me first day, line wouldnt cover it and they've been slowly chipping apart ever since.

you should be looking at the ep pro or the ll2 if you already have an all around ski. lizzy's are just a fat park ski.

What is the difference between the Bacons and the EP Pros? How would they compare to the LL2? What other skis should I consider that are similar because I have heard a lot of good things about LL2's....Thanks.

EPs are noodles, there is no stiffness in them. Made specifically for pow, although some people ride them everywhere. Bacons are a soft yet versatile flex, made to be ridden more all over as well as excelling in powder. The Live Life 2 is in its own category really. Its super stiff and flat under foot, making it kill on any conditions like a normal ski. But the massive tip and tail rocker (kinda looks like its broken) makes it perform like a hellbent or EP in powder, and butters are super easy, but wont wash out like an EP. Basically its the perfect ski. The closest id compare it with would maybe be the JJ? Mainly because of a stiffer flex and similar dimensions. Kinda.

the LL2 TJ Schneiders (non-rockered) dive like submarines in pow. I have them as a park and slush ski, for which they're awesome but they are a real bitch in pow.

I did not know that.. So next years lizzies come in 2 sizes, 172 like this years but also 1 size bigger 182?? thats the same size as the Bacons right? what is the differences between those in 182 size??

Yeah, Line's just giving its customers more choice. Frankly, I think a 172 bacon is just really too short for a powder ski, but even with its soft flex, a longer lizzie could be super fun and possibly more stable. The sidecut will stay the same for both skis I think, and as usual, only the bacons will have early taper.
