170 vs 178

I have some Salomon rocker2s in 170, With Z12 demo bindings. I am thinking of switching to the 178. I am 173 cm tall and ski only on the ice coast. I ski mostly trees. Should I stick with the 170 or snag some 178s? I also plan to change bindings no matter what ski size I keep.
 
hmm, one of the few times i'd consider going smaller rather than larger (besides for newbies) is for someone who primarily values tree skiing

how do you feel about your 170s? do you find yourself wishing they were bigger, smaller, anything? also are you good?
 
they have a pretty decent amount of rocker. They feel great, but are a bit lacking in tails for when I am just screwing around going switch on groomers or casual park, but that is probably because the demo bindings are mounted god knows how far back from center. As for ability, I am average. Not at all a local hero but not complete ass either. I am still growing and planning to get daymakers+ skins and want to make sure I dont buy skins for next season, then replace them next season after because I grew. An extra 8cm is not really that much, so I am just weighing the monetary pros and cons and the time i will take to exchange my boards for 178s.
