just a handheld 8mm camera, you could get for about 500. it's not a cheap hobby

under 500 bones? you should be looking at a used digi 8 or mini dv, you wont be able to get anything new for that much, or any sort of a film camera, because film cameras (16, 8mm) come with extra expenses that you will need to incorporate, such as developing, film, etc. I assume your just starting off, so i would recommend a digital camera.... digi 8 hi 8, or mini dv... and those new are over 1000. so a used cam will be your only answer

yes, and for the record, 16mm is film, not video. Video and film are different things. Film is a lot more expensive, a lot more difficult to use correctly, but also looks much better if you do it right.

thank you dyna dog

And if you're shooting skating with film, expect to pay at least, uhhh... alot, per shot of the guy accually sticking the trick. There's a reason that the pro's don't use film for skating.

Prices (sorta) in Canadian dollars:

16mm: $50/min (X4min per reel)

Super8: $7.50/min (X4min per cartridge)

plus video transfer, etc...

expect to pay 300$ a min altogether for 16mm film, processing, transfer and all that shit.

just use a black and white sony handicam. point it at the sun lots and make sure theres lots of condensation in the lens. and take lots of your grandmas medication to make your hands all jittery.

the big cost on 16 mm is transfering it to digy... every click made by the 16mm = $1 and if you have ever heard a 16mm run thats fucking hella expencive

WTF?!?!!??!!?!?!?!?!? why the hell... im... fucking perplexed!!!! you arent professional, shit youre just getting started, why the fuck do you want to shoot on analog? god damnit
