16mm camcorders

so, whats the deal with them? how do they work etc.....I know nothing about them but would like to learn about them. know any places that give info on them? I cant really find things on them at google and other places.

its not a camcorder, camcorder refers to video while 16mm is film. well basically there are two formats, 16 and super16. best way to learn and find info is at book stores. you will probably want to look into 16mm instead of super 16 because those cameras are cheaper, smaller and used the most for skiing. frame rate runs at 24 fps but if you want a cam for skiing, you are going to want a cam that runs at variable frame rates for high quality slow motion. best place to get em are used ones off of ebay, i gots to go but can tell you more lata

the film and processing is super expensive as well. relly relly expencive.

they are relly cool though, i used one like a week ago for like 5 seconds. yeah they are awsome cameras.

i did some research on them not to long ago. most used in the ski industry are arriflex cameras. u can find decent used ones anywhere from 2000 to 7000 dollars depending on the lenses and use of the camera. ebay or google 16mm cameras and ull find tons of crap.
