161 or 171????

Hello everyone,I am 5' 10" and want the 2012 Salomon suspects and cant choose between the 161 and 171??? if you could help me answer this question please comment below
 
5.6 and my park skis are usually 171 ish , but did have a pair of 177s you don't really notice a few cms all that much but you will hate your life on a 161. get at least a 176

im 5 4, and a 164 ski is almost too small, so id consider going even higher than 171 if i were you but it all comes down to preference
 
171 for sure. I used to be a Salomon rider, but then I switched to Armada. Salomons skis have gotten shitty over the years, and are loosing so many riders. Bug if i were you 171 for sure.
 
Because they have gotten shitty over the years, and switch to Armada or like Atomic. But if you do get Salomon, get 171 and not 161. Also salomon has lost so many riders.
 
If we told you, there would be a novel called "Why suspects are the shitty skis on the face of the earth" Two pieces of wood with cast iron edges would be better than the suspects
 
i ride park do backflips and orks and the whole nine hards and i could get armadas????? if i could get armadas which ones would i get???????

3. AR7s, Alphas, Halos, T Halls, depends what you ski the most

4. If you ride park and can do "backflips and orks" how do you not know about any good equipment? haha
 
im trying to get others opinions cuz i was looking at suspects aramada ar7's and liberty LTE's and i couldnt decide which so im trying to see what your guys opinions are
 
I ride the Armada Halos, and love them. I would 100% recommend them. Liberty is not the best (bamboo base, de-laminates easy and not stable).
 
to change the subject Im looking at the ar7's and Im in a toss up between the 166's and the 171's......which one is better if Im basically doing, jumps, rails, boxes the whole works...................
 
Bamboo not stable? Ok, I'll stick to my LTE's. OP, drop the Suspects from your choice list, go with either the AR7's or LTE's- they both ski fairly similarly and both have good durability.
 
171. the ski may be 166 sure, but think about the inches of ski at both ends that aren't touching the ground due to the curve. always go longer rather than shorter
 
Ya Saxon is completely right. I would agree go bigger like 171, not 166. But you should also check out the Halos because they are buttery, and super fun for jibing around the park, and are just a great all around ski.
 
amplid antidogmas in there 170 something size. and first of all for suspects i dont know anyone who has a full edge on their set
 
This guy has you covered man. Definitely go 171 if not 176. I'm 5'6" on 165's and after a season completely regret it. Sure they're fine now, but I'm pretty my next set will be 176.

And Armada measures ski length before pressing, so your skis are going to be a about 2 cm. shorter than what they're listed at.

Another thing to consider is mounting position. If you're going close to center, go longer so you have more amounts of tip and tail. With a farther back mount its not as noticeable if the skis are short, but centermount and you definitely notice how short it is. You will have neither tip nor tail and its awkward.
