I'm sure this has been stated multiple times in the thread, but it wont happen because it is illegal to leave the union.

it's illegal to secede anyways, so they would never let them secede even if they got 100,000 signatures in 10 min.they would do everythign in there power to keep them in the union

And just how many of those american companies are going to remain in texas if they started operating? Most likely very few, if any. Especially considering how the us govt would almost certainly place an embargo on them...as would just about any nato nation.

None of this could happen the day states leave they will go bankrupt. Half the people calling everything communist or communism are mentally retarded illiterate kids who think Romney is going to save the world from anything. I could care less about Obama or Romney because as soon as I graduate college I'm moving to Canada, I might even go to Canada for college. But whatever, these states leaving are just ignorant people doing it, the government in the states don't want it, they realize they wouldn't stand a chance with financial problems and etc. without being a part of the country. Not that it could ever happen anyways. Whatever, i just can't stress how annoyed I get by idiotic people who do things like this.

Just heard an interview on CBC radio 1 with the guy who organized the petition for Alabama. The dude is a fucking loon who believes in Ron Paul and the "New World Order". Basically the dude had a topless car wash that got shut down, and he blamed it on Obama. People who signed this suit are just quack jobs.

Second is that a large number of libertarians, and Ron Paul voters are conspiracy theorists and believe in the "New Work Order". Just putting two and two together.
