15 states file petitions to secede from the Union

you sir need to go into politics, i feel like they would get so much more done with a belly full of dunkaroos.

Also petition is dildos, angry republicans are angry.

it was also only a part of the legion that actually tried to.

Biggest flaw in a branch of the military leaving is that militaries run on money. Fighting against the source of your supplies and money is never a good battle.

And these days, despite all the shit they get, the Air Force or Navy could effectively wipe out the planet in a matter of minutes.

So in essence, both the Army and the Marines could turn against the government, and wouldn't stand a chance unless they were able to overrun every command center, ship, submarine and AF base faster than someone can press a button.

Maybe? Maybe not idk, the reason for it being is that the United States was initially envisioned as a confederation, and Ron Paul is suuuch a supporter of State Rights that I could see him supporting Texas seceeding from the Union or something.

I could see that but at the same time I have a hard time seeing someone who has devoted their entire career to serving the united states backing secession. The only way I can think to describe it is just flat out unpatriotic

Being the huge nerd and big fan of history (especially american history) that I am I lost pretty hard at this

that's why I became a legitimate historian...simply so I could make outlandish jokes.

I was actually forced to leave the room during the presidential debates because no one else was enjoying my references to elections from the 50s and 60s.

Irrelevant, I know what you're saying though. You've got me on his one. I admit defeat. Though I do stand with Tom Woods in my opinion on the articles of confederation.

I don't really think of it in a right or wrong sort of way. I engage in most of these discussions hoping to learn something and or teach something. Whether it be learning a fact or just how another person views a situation

i am so high

thank you. I applaud you sir and wish more people had this view point. I feel like this is the view of the majority of republicans and everyone should stop listening to the crazy fucks on the extremes of both sides

This is the standard policy of the whitehouse.gov petition site. And it's not that they will "consider the request" they just have to respond to the petition. So basically this is just a bunch of stupid angry people getting nowhere.

Taken from the petitions.whitehouse.gov terms of participation:

"To cross the second threshold and require a response, a petition must reach 25,000 signatures within 30 days."[/b]

This is exactly what i was thinking, why should DC even think about this horse shit before a state has at least half of the population signing?

The formal military itself does not choose who it supports. The people choose a commander, and the military follows. It's not gray......its fucking black or white. Barrack Obama wins...... then the military obeys his orders.

Ps......... the military not equal, homosexuals openly allowed to serve. Sounds like liberal ideal to me.

This is complete bullshit and misleading. It was individuals that signed the petition, also 5 states out of the 15 went for Obama! Why the hell would they want to secede when they voted for Obama's administration. You are an idiot.

How is seceding from the union going to help them when 90% of the voters in our country seem to be just a little bit retarded.

They voted for the people in the government. They're the ones that listen to the major news groups and think they're getting factual non biased information. I'm guessing this one is leaning toward the republicans and fox news, but regardless, both sides are fucking stupid.

It would be different if were states that were filled with people who were actually somewhat intelligent, trying to vote their country to a better place, and failing because of all the other idiots.

Idk. Many of are problems would be resolved if people in this country weren't so fucking stupid. Bitch and moan about something going on in the government, vote for somebody who will do the same things. Blindly listen to whatever the news tells you about a candidate.

Was interesting to watch especially with romney, how the news propaganda changed people over time. Originally romney was too much like obama for many, had a lot of bad qualities, but people though he had a chance of beating obama, By the end it seemed like some of those people had gone for, don't really like him but he's better than obama, to romney is the fucking man and I love everything he says because the man on the news told me too.

Maybe one day 15 states will vow to secede from the bonds of ignorance. That would be much more exciting.

Exactly. People are the problem. Half the people in this country are so set in their thoughts and political views that not even the most blatant facts will change their mind.

People are just fine with being ignorant which is really the downfall of this country.

That is freakin' hilarious.

350 million people in this country and you think that when 20k want to seceede, it's news?

Get real. This is a joke, those people are retards and this is not news. The same 20k people hated us last year, and will next year. This is not news.

Bahahahahaha so they are saying that because 13,000 people out of the 25,674,681 citizens of Texas want to succeed from the union, they actually will? Laughable.

this would not be a long civil war.

other thoughts, theabortionator was spot on about ignorance, it's a scary fact.

and i got an immense amount of enjoyment from the guy saying that the army would support the side that secedes

I said I didn't know, but hey whatever works.

I don't think people realize how bad big government is, how easily freedoms can be trampled upon. Voting for Obama, was essentially voting for a 4th term for Bush. They're literally that similar. Both with an authoritarian streak and an absolute lack of knowledge regarding the economy.

This election was a choice between big government and bigger government, unfortunately Americans chose bigger government. I'll say this much though, welfare nations have generally devolved to authoritarian states as a means to coerce the population into submission.
