dude, i honestly dont really care about shit that I am not apart of. Yea, dogtown was dope. It was in the past, its a cool story, but compared to skiing, dogtown was like one little aspect of skateboarding.

Skateboarding now adays is ALOT sicker than Dogtown was. Can you say 360 flip to bluntslide down a handrail?

Sure they started the movement, but someone would have done it, its not like they were the only people to ever do anything steezed out and smooth.

Lets think of the evolving of skiing,

hrmmm 8 ft long wooden sticks and now kids are doing forward cork 14's.....pretty dope shiz, and guess what, we are all apart of it.
 
no ^you need to realize how big what your a part of is. so many twin tip skiiers. it is like the the big wave surfing revolution in hawwaii or the golden age of yosemite rock climbing. we are where the dirtbag mountain folk are right now
 
ok to put it into some sort of terms you can understand...you might be able to compare dogtown to the new canadian airforce that started this whole "movement" in the late 90's...but you probably don't respect what those guys did either? which is ignorant. are you going to ignore their "story" because you weren't a part of it?

Dogtown wasn't a story to the guys living in that time...by the way..and it helped skateboarding grow into one of the biggest sports on the planet...

Can you say switch 1260 octograb? the new canadian airforce would have never dreamed of such a crazy trick but it did win the Open this year...

im talking about skiing taking back every kid who wanted to do something sick that snowboarding took. its a revolution of who knows what up at the mounatin. this is the first year at pc when i see more young skiers than boarders. im talking everyone who goes to big bear from LA donning twin tips in two years
 
Actually, I was alive and skiing at the time during the Canadian Air force was around. Freeze magazine was bascially the thing that brought steeze into my skiing life. I do not live in canada nor was I a big mogul skier so I had no idea that CAF was even doing until i saw their pictures in Freeze. So actually, you could say I am part of it, which is what I care about.

I miss the newschoolers where anyone could post their accomplishments and people would be stoked for them. Bio 14 is pretty amazing. Makes me want to ski.
 
i just read this whole thread and its pretty ughh crazy. first props tosh on stomping cork 1440, thats ill. second. its pretty lame how people tried to make this a bigger deal. the thing was whether he claimed or not..i personally dont really give a fuck but theres no need to bring the 4bi9 kids, weed, or ninthward into it weve all heard plenty of stuff about those issues and at this point its old. 3rd i think its ill how tosh thinks of it as a movement..something i havent really thought about much but theres no way there can be a successful movement like skateboarding with all the hate. finally. its all about skiing and enjoying it.

This thread really seemed shitty from the beginning, since NO ONE has seen a claim on NS by a pro in a while. TJ did not claim this 1440 after he did it; everyone saw it. Tosh Peters chose to do it on his own, corked and grabbed, and is saying, byyyyaahhhhh, i did it, check me out. good job, the sport is fucking wild right now.

The "PC and Big Bear Revolution" is dope. I skied when boarding was cool because I could own on my snowboarder friends. I love the people at Big Bear from LA, the uncultured fucks they are, only listening to pop culture and media, look at me as a skier like some sort of fucking douchebag fuckshit asshole. Then I spin over them, yell at them for getting in my way, and jib yelling 'hella' and 'hyphy' to piss them off. Skiers are back. Soon we will take over te snow again. NEAT!

Haha, I can't believe Conceptkid stillll hasn't died in a fire. I was hoping that would have happened in '03. And when you get hurt it's kind of hard to have a blow up season. And as far as shredding pow goes, I'm jealous. Honestly when it comes to pow days you're limited by your geography. This year Utah didn't have such a good year..... I'm glad your area did. Claiming things you have no control over is AWESOME! Fuck off.
