This has been blown way out of proportion.

The ironic thing is, he could have posted exactly what he started off this thread saying in the:

"did anyone learn anything new today" thread and been just fine, he wouldn't have been called a claimer, people would've just said "jea!"

I dont know tosh extremely well but i see him at pc almost everyday and he doesn't ski around claiming everything... but like i said, this thing got blown way out of proportion.

Skiing is far from "core", in your pseudo hippy sense, because it depends on massive companies to supply rails, cats, and lifts.

If you were a freeride guru, who made his own skis and climbs for his turns, then i'd say you're core. Or someone who only skis urban on his own skis with his own stuff. You depend on conglomerates. Get used to it.

Freeskiing is showing new growth, great. You want to know where to rank yourself in that growth? Newsflash, people will remember the real greats, not the claimers along the way.
 
i mean core in a community sense. my mom ski raced with henrik lamperts mom and now i compete with henrik. if you dont call that the core ski community your dumb

Ask yourself this: If you landed a forward cork 14, would you be stoked? Would you want to tell everyone, including all your friends? Do you have friends on NS? Well then....

I think we need to bring claiming back. Cause we dont all have time or money to get every trick we do on camera so we can prove it to some dumbass kid sitting behind his computer who says you arent core enough because you dont make your own skis.

Do you realize how much quicker kids can progress when they can just buy all their own shit(skis etc) and ride up the chairlifts so we can lap the park all day everyday? So seriously, stfu about what you think is core or not.

And honestly, the skiing movement is bigger than Dogtown will ever be, because why? Because me and you and everyone on NS is apart of it right now, its not something that happened in the past. We are in it right now and each individual has a big part in the movement. One kid can throw down a super innovative technical trick (i.e. forward cork 1440) and all of a sudden people realize what is possible and all of a sudden other people start throwing really technical tricks too or putting more style into their tricks.

Never once did Tosh say something like "yea all of you guys suck, im way better than you cause I can do a 14, you will never be as good as me..good luck getting sponsoriezed!11..LOL"

And almostaskier, look at your pictures in your profile, you posted a pic that says "my first rail" pffffffffffft damn claimer, seriously gtfo!!11 I mean seriously, who claims their first rail?
