13 year old lands 1260

yeah why do these kids get so good. its not fair..

i wish my parents woulda started me skiing at like 5 instead of me starting at 15.

I don't know man tree skiing is hella easy. I rip big mountain but I can't ski for shit in the park because I don't want to put my body at risk and I feel more confident billygoating a ridge than I do taking off or landing blind. I definitely have mad respect for kids who put there body on the line to make sick videos and comps for our sport. So while I share your love for skiing gnar terrain and deep pow I can't say I agree with your negativity toward the park. You go put your money where your mouth is and throw a huge spin. I'd put that 13 year old in a big mountain comp quicker than I'd put you in a Slopestyle or Big Air. It doesn't take that long to get good at either if you get a lot of days in, but it takes more reckless balls to ski park I'd say.

Christopher can ski outside the park too. He's one of those kids that grew up racing I think so he knows how to ski out of the park.... rare these days.

yeah laker is crazy. he just turned 13 to so he's still super young. not braggin but thats a perfect north slopes kid born and raised. southeastern indiana

I agree that for the most part park takes more balls than regular skiing, but I can't say the same for the rest of your post. Anyone can ski down a sick powder line, but you can definitely tell who kills it and who doesn't. There's a certain style that definitely requires a lot more skill than just any fucker who's been skiing for a few years has. And there's some lines that require just as much nerve as most anything you see off a jump...they're just really rare. Props to the kid though, that's pretty outrageous. I wish I could do something of value in the park haha.

You kids are unbelievable. You can actually hate on a 13 year old who just landed a 12. I doubt any of you would even have the guts to attempt it, let alone the skills. He also grabbed, so it wasn't just huck, spin, and pray. Yet still, you can't 1260 so you make excuses and say I bet he can't rip tree and pow lines. Truth is hundreds of kids can ski rediculous lines. Far less could spin a 12. And think about that, if a kid can 12, i'm pretty sure he's comfortable skiing. Not everyone has 30 ft of snow a year, a snowmobile, or even a heli for that matter. Still again, you can't 1260 or ski pow, so you say at that age i didn't know there was a park. Like somehow the fact you started later justifies a 13 year old being better than you. THATS THE POINT OF THIS THREAD. Younger and younger kids are thowing down. The whole hate on park rats is bull. Any kid whos comfortable in the park or has an extremely smooth style knows how to ski. Alot of the skills and especialy style come from being a strong skier outside of the park. Get over it. There are kids out there who are better than you and there will always be new ones coming up.

laker is so smooth in his skiing. o and his(my) home hill where he practices got 16.5 inches of natty snow. only open 90 some days all season. so you can just imagine how hard he trains.

Sort of... The kid definitely deserves some respect, and kids are getting ridiculously good for sure, but... knowing how to ski park does not automatically mean you can ski the rest of the mountain well. That's an outrageous thing to say, there are so many kids who can't do shit outside of the park.

yeah its almost sad these days with the kids who immediately go to park before they can ski. then they are out of the sport once high school ends

for a video you can look at freezingpoint32.com or something for a few clips otherwise Kids Who Rip..

he is also sponsored by dalbello, line, scott, oakley, and giro i believe..

this thread isnt here to show anyone up or to start fights about backcountry vs. park, im just telling the ski community about one young kid who can throw down some pretty big tricks..

Oh word, I agree. It usually works in reverse though. Kids who kill park know how to ski. Thier all mt skills make them that much more comfortable in the park. I was talking about kids like this one. There's so many kids who can "ski" park while there all mt skills are average at best. But i've yet to see a kid like that who has a smooth natural style and really throws down.

why should you? i know kids ur age that throw down craziier shit than that, they get no props, they don't complain. keep throwin' down and maybe one day u will get props

dude chris is mad sick. he was telling me he was doing misties off of there rolercoasterbox that has a kick at the end. hes not like a spin to win kind of kid either. he made the 12 look really good

also look out for colby stevenson. hes 9 i think and was doing cork 7s with i think tail grabs at the big air

people at perfect north slopes slay harder than alot of places... i ride there everyday... that kid blows my mind everytime hes out there... ive never really seen him fall hard... hes cat-like...

we don't have trees and sick lines to slay here like so many of you claim we should be doing, we've got all of 800 vertical feet, so naturally, we spend a lot of time in the park.

and at the dude that said he's cocky as hell, if you'd ever actually skied with the kid you'd wouldn't be getting that impression.

thats amazing but you gotta take into effect how much easier it is to throw yourself when ur small. but hes still amazing.

ok ok just stop saying it was hucked chris was throwing the smoothest 10's i have seen at the mwx event at perfect north, and concerning the cocky thing have you ever tried to talk to chris? he isn't cocky he is just really shy one of the chillest kids in the park at PNS

Chris is a very good strong all around skier in all categories. I made lots of runs with him during that next snow comp both this year and last year. Don't doubt any of the kids who score at the top in that Next Snow Comp, it is a good indicator of who to watch for in the future.

I'd pay for pictures of him in a speed suit!! I over heard him call his friend who won 3rd place in the slalom at Nextsnow something like "racer fag"........ oh.. that would be so good! hahaha

BTW - This is a link to the names and scores from the NextSnow comp if anyone is interested in tracking the 13 and unders.

well any time he's been around me or my friends i've got that impression and i've heard it from other people too

ok so your saying it's easy to ski big mountain,  it's easy to do what seth, pollard, pep etc do?

im not hating on the kid but all you need to spin 12s(and grab if u want) is have balls. For big mountain, tree lines and things like that, you need technique and experience.

well usually this is the case that if you can do really big spins your good, but look at big mountain riders i guarntee you that they are better than this kid but they cant 12, i know it is a different style of riding but still
