13-14 SFB length

i just bought a pair of 1-14 SFB's for the upcoming season. I went with a 172 without doing much research and now am having second thoughts.

I read that the SFB skis much shorter then the listed measurements. Do you think 172 is too short? Side not, the longest ski i ski right now is a 171 A-Bang. My daily east coast driver is a 166 AR7.

I'm 5'7 and 148 lbs

Did i fuck up?

Well you should be okay but somewhere around a 178 would have been more ideal. Not sure the next size on them but that probably would have been better but if you can't return them you should still be okay

I’m 5’7” 140lbs and ride the 184cm SFB’s. They ride very short, they are very twitchy, which is why you should of at least gone with the next size up.

For comparison I rode 174 Recoils and 176 Punx and both feel longer than my 184cm sfb.

I'm 5 ft 6, 145 lbs. I ski the 178's and I don't think I would have problems skiing the 184's.

So if you can, I would go a little longer at least. Unless you are going to use them in the park a lot or something.

I am 5"9 about 155 and i have a pair of the 2014/2015 SFBs in the 172. They are my first new ski in a couple of years but I prefer my skis a bit on the shorter side because I find them more nimble. I just got off a pair of 2013 Ar7s at 161 just because I wanted a wider ski to go up against the West Coast powder. You should be fine with the 172 Bacons and worst comes to worst, you just resell them. I had a hell of a tough time finding a pair for under $400 and there are a bunch of pairs left in the longer lengths for cheaper than that so you should be fine.

I think i'm going to try and cancel the order and get them in 178. Considering these will be used 75% of the time charging side/back country the extra length might really help with stability

+k for everyone's input
