anyone else have relatives who were in the 10th mountain division?
just got my grandpas old wooden skis that he used in italy/alaska, they're now hung in my room.
think they were either made in 1939 or 1940
so sick.

by the way i don't know if there was already a thread on this- i searched- didn't find one.

My dad has like 3 pairs of Swiss Army skis or something with locking free heel bindings. Not sure why he got so many, but he got them for like $40 each in some army surplus catalogue.

don't have any family in the 10th but i did just pick up some old ass wooden skis with the free heel bindings from my grandpa as well

yeah, I know a little about them. They are some of the founders of skiing in Colorado and California. Sick old sticks for touring.

old people on the chairlift in aspen tell me about the 10th mountain division all the time when they see the graphics on my old STL's

they really were the pioneers for the ski industry in America. they founded vail and more. Also they invented the snowmobile, they were legit, they fought italians on skis, so pretty much a ski-by
