i have the old model of the salomon 1080's for 3 years now and im starting to look at a new pair of skis. does anyone know if the newest model of the 1080's is lighter, cause i didnt like how the old ones were so heavy

 
they delaminate easy, thats all i really know about htem

ok mine haven't delamed easy i hate the way someone will get bum equipment on here then all of suden that product is shit it happens to all company the new 1080s are awsome and light especially with the ti bindings

yea, mine haven't delamed either, i only know one person's that have, and they are pretty light.

last years were sick i tried looking for them in the summer but couldnt find ne because they were all sold out, but i got the new mad tricks instead, still the new 1080's look crazy.

Yah the new 1080's are sick and since im always lost the neon Yellow works for me...LAst years are 'dope show' as well and they are a steal...having touble finding them?? go ebay

and yes no delam here

 
from what i've heard, the new 'space frame' technology in this years really sucks for some reason, but last years kick ass.

from what you have heard.... everyone says that how about u go out and try them... I own the new 1080 and their the sickest skis out their, their like unscratcable, perfect flex, pop is good, the Ti binding is insane... the ski is unbelievable... I tried the rossie scratches and i didnt like them as much as the new 1080's, if your talking about a ski that delaminates then ur talking about the scratch! not the 1080

 
the new 1080's are awesome, I'd reccomend them to anyone.

But they de-lammed on me on the first day and have continued to fall apart since.

Maybe I just got a bum pair

actually... the scratches and the public enemys are the sickest skis of the year. 1080s are ugly. The Ti bindings are money tho

Alright, coming from someone whos actually owned both models:

00-02 model- sweet ski for park, very light. On the groomers they rule, they carve sweet arcs very easily, great in the moguls too. Off piste they work but you can do better, too soft and skinny.

02-03 model- Sweet sweet ski, still light, but not as light as previous models. A little stiffer and fatter than last years model, so they actually ski off piste pretty well, just a little soft to contend with the bandit XX or something similar. Mine havent shown any signs of delaminating so far, after a heavy use for a week in Whistler.

i guess that there doing well, cause salomon is not changing them what so ever for next year. The Pocket rocket also stays the same.

 
i heard next years 1080's are gonna be like a smaller version of the pocket rockets

FOR EVERYONE WHO SAYS 1080'S DELAMINATE:

GIVE ME PHOTO EVIDENCE.

I've had the new 1080's since the beggining of the year, and are the best ski i've had so far. Soft, fat and lightweight, and cut through almost any condition snow. I have yet to find a flaw. get em. ride em. love em.
