This years 1080 with the space frame are a definate no. do not, i repeat, do not get them. the 1080's were a great park ski till this year, so get a pair that isn't from this year (the orange ones are this years model). Or you could get the Volkl V's (my skis) they're sick.

WA skiers are cool. I'm a WA skier. I'm cool. You know, Washington apples are cool too. . .

ya i got last years and they are nice but this year the space frame is shit, so id get the K2 Public Enemys they look so sick and i wanna get em but i dont need new skis, and they are only like $375 so id definitely get those

Dont just say they suck, back it up. Why are they shitty this year?

Why would spaceframe all the sudden make the 1080 a beginner ski?!?! You even know what spaceframe is or what it does? Your entitled to your own opinion, but without some sorta reasoning it's just more talk.

None of you know what you're talking about...the 1080 has improved tremendously, more stable, wider, better for pow, easier to spin on, know what you're talking about before you say it

yeah if its wider its harder to manuver on hard pack and shit and if hes in the east there is no way in hell he should get the 1080's but if theres a lot of pow and backcountry shit on his mountain they wouldnt be bad for that shit

yea theyre good from what my friends riding them have told me, one of my friends, a really good skier, has already delaminated his tails

1080s are sick, and they're still probably the best all around twintip. The spaceframe only makes it more stable, and easier to spin with than last years. The shapes are pretty similar to, so it shouldn't be a problem ripping it up on groomed. I have last years and they're dope for just cruisin around rippin gs turns. The tail is way better on the new ones also, with the spaceframe construction it allowed them to put more material in the tail without unbalancing the weight or anything. I think its a sick ski all around, and no doubt its the best for turns.

I've demoed a lot of skis, I work at a ski shop, and I ended up buying the teneighty's, you won't find a better ski.

ive got a sick pair of mad trix but sombody stoll them and scratched the number out i caught them they had sanded them and where gonan paint them now they just look like shit and nobody will work on them for me so i am sol for moutning my new bindings i wnt last years dorians

If 1080's were beginning skis then salomon wouldn't be giving them to their top riders.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

They'll work for anyone

Beginers can use 1080's if they wanna spend that much on their first pair of skis, just cause they are so easy to use. They're good for the whole mountian too, not just the park. But some of the best pros out their use teneighty's, so you can't say that they suck. 'eh?

im sure anatomically, the 1080 is by far the best ski out there....but, if your a loser like i am, all you care about is the name brand and how it looks. and DAMN those are ugly! Their like a silver billboard for salomon....whats up witht e robots?? If i got thsoe, id sure paint them, go sell them and buy Lines....b/c im superficial

I don't understand why everyone is so down on the spaceframe. I really don't know much about it since I have last year's 1080 and have not got on the spaceframe yet.

I had last years 1080's and got the new ones recently, they are such a big improvement. I don't know how you ppl can down the new spaceframe. It makes the ski lighter, wider and mmore stable. The biding mount is more progressive than ever and they are just awesome. Don't be afraid of change.

i got the new 1080's this year, mainly cuz i heard that unlike lines, they can actually be trurned in our MN groomers. i love them, so far.

The new 1080s this year are the bomb. The Spaceframe construction does everything to help make this a better ski, such as making it lighter, more stable, stiffer where it needs to be. The carving radius on the skis are still the same if not better than last years. Just becuase they widened the waist of the ski does not mean that they kept the tip and tail the same dimensions. They widened those also, to give the ski better carvability. As far as the Pocket Rockets go, they are just MORE stable, and can actually carve a bigger turn than the 1080s, becuase the dimensions are way bigger (32mm and 25mm difference, tip and tail). One ski that I would not get are the Mad Trix, those things are so damn heavy, it is ridiculous. They would be alright for an all mountain ski, but I cannot stand having that heavy of a ski in general. As far as K2 skis go, they're pretty good, although they tend to be pretty heavy in general. As well, they delam to easily (last year's Enemies did within a couple of days of riding). But whatever you like riding, ride it.

the mad trixx r the shit...heacy but if u want stability, like u r talking about..then there they are...if u want to leave the park like any real skier would want to, dont get lines, they are a park ski, the space frame however is the shit...and the new mount for the bindings strengthens them so the break will happen less often
