1080s durability?

I've heard some ppl say that the new 1080s start to die after like 4 months but some say they last 3 years? whos right? Just wonderin' thats all

everyone i know who has ten's have never had a problem. but if your skis do brake your fucked cause they're warrenty sucks.

i have the blue 1080's and they rock. i got them at the beggining of last year and they haven't showed any signs of blowing up except the tips came off, but they come off all the time on most peoples 1080s. so other than that they are really good.

i have the dorions and they're sick...nothing wrong with them yet...good skis from my point of view.

It's not about the wannabes stylin' for the crowd. It's about you setting your own standards and being a tough judge...
 
I got the '01 tens, they are good skis, but they do start to die after awhile, they'll become soft, they still are a good ski, but they are getting alittle soft.

I've got the 177 '02 1080s and have skiied about 50 days on them with no sign of wear except for a couple of base repairs and superficial scratching on the graphics.

Freshies for a week after a dump? Temple Basin - Hell Yeah!

 
yeah 10s are fairly durable, or so my friends who have them say

Awesome skis but the tops of them chip way too easy. Mine chipped through to the core first day out. The waranty sucks too.

 
Dude the core is foam what more is there to say. The ski sucks, you can totally tell the difference between a good ski and the 1080 just demo the concepts and the 10's at the same time and you'll feel which one is the better ride.

 
what are you talking about the teneightys were the the best. this year i dont know. but i have had the blue ones and skied on them for about 2-3 years and this year im not skiing on them only cause they are too short now

 
yeah,,1080s kick ass. Mine are two years old and I have skied them in every condition there is . They rock big mountain, I have railed the hell out of them and the edges are still in tact, and before that I had a pair of machete twins for the first three days of my season before I OBLITERATED them

 
Ok i dont know what some of you are talking about. The new 1080 blows everythign out of the water for this year. the spaceframe kicks everythings ass. Concept, scratch, volkl, line. With the exception of armada because i dont know about it nothing has a chance compared to them. The older 1080s tips came off easy but the new ones have no tip and the metal tex topsheet keeps it from gettign all gouged like before. All in all if you're spending the money the 1080 is the only smart choice

 
the new spaceframe is sick! At the test center this summer at Hood only one pair got wrecked and it was from people abuseing them on the rails. (the edge was starting to pull away) Salomon's warreny has gotten tons better! 1080's are now the best all around ski.
