1080 without salomon bindings

I assume its cool to put some rossi bindings on some 1080's. but Is this alright? becuase i usually see 1080s with just salomon bindings. I realize salomon cant warrent the skis if you mount them with some other bindings other then there own, but is there a problem with putting some rossi bindings on a pair of 1080's?

i dont think it should affect the warrenty for the skis. salomon bindings do have like a 4 or 5 year warrenty on them.

i herd somewhere that it does, but why do you not see more 1080's with diffrent kinds of bindings

If someone is dumb enough to buy salomon skis, they are probably dumb enough to not buy look bindings. Having said that, I ride teneightys with s912s, so I shouldn't talk.

after reading this, i cant remember ever seeing a pair of 1080's that DIDNT have salomon bindings on them...strange

I have seen it, salomon has one year warr. on every ski. If you put a salo binding one also, it extends the warranty to two years. All ski companies should do this. Go for it if you need to warranty them, take the bindings off and bring the skis in and tell them they had salo bindings and they will say 'ok' b/c almost every pair has them.

the warranty is one year for the ski. mount a salomon binding on it (wich has a 5 year warranty) and you have a 2 year warranty for your ski. The advantage of the salomon binding the supper warranty of 5 years. plus, the pivots are abit more exepensive, plus you'll need to put a wide brake on them, because the waist of a 1080 is fatter then on a conventional ski. this will cost you about 40$ more, on top the base price for a rossi/look binding
