1080 skis..why the hate?

Ive had mine since the beginning of the season and they ski awsome. The only thing I dont like is how much they chatter. I do like soft skis for the park though and the 1080s also are awsome in the powder. Great all around.

i have ten eightys and they dont fall apart after ten times you fucking idiot whoever said that. and they are just plain sick....i have had many skis and if they sucked then i would just say it i wouldnt lie about it. Whoever says that they are too flexy to ski on ice is also a fucking moron and most likely doesnt know how to ski in the first place....a flexy ski flexes down into the ground as you carve and alows you to hold your edge EASIER. unless you have a real reason to get mad then dont say it... if your skis delaminated then that is a good reason but everyone else FUCK YOU

this is what happend to mine after a month

ECM productions presents... 'Last Man Standing' coming end of Jan.

Being 6'5' 190lbs, the ski is just too small and too soft for me to ski aggressivly. The few times I have tried the skis just washed out in big, fast turns. Skiing is all turning, so it's a great reason to hate the ski. If the ski works for you, wonderful, but my experience with the 1080s hasn't been a good one.

i've skiied 1080's since they came out with the blue ones in like 2001? the blue ones are still goin strong, albeit with rivets in the tips, but they still hold their own. my sliver ones have dull edges, the core is shot and they actually crease behind my binding if i ride the tails, but it just makes buttering and whatnot that much easier, my only real complaint is that they are a bit soft torsionally and longitudinally for skiing crappy PA ice

Ill tell ya why....cuz I know at least 5 people who delamed the silver ones (2003/2004) and thats just horrible.

Keep, Keep on truckin' Yeah...Good Stuff

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

'Researchers have discovered that chocolate produces some of the same reactions in the brain as marijuana. The researchers also discovered other similarities between the two but can't remember what they are.'

i delammed my first pair of silver ones in about 10 days as well, buuuuut, salomon is awesome with their warranty, i have a new pair AND brand new bindings in a little over a week. and they dont support us?

The 1080 is to soft of a ski for me

There is no such thing as shitty snow only shitty skiers.

If it was easy they would call it snowboarding.

i love my 10's, and there still nice for 'big mountain' but if u doing actuall big moutain hardcore shit, im sure u have some other skiis for that too....

just ski

>alpine ski shop<

Go Sox

i was at some ski shop in vancouver BC and the guy there was showing us 1080's..so he starts flexing it and i start hearing this cracking sound, so im like uhh.....then he's just like, 'it's ok, just the fiberglass.' then im just like whatever...cant be good for the ski. the end.

Jeepers Creepers, where'd you get the neat sneakers?!?!

I ride the 1080...and I think its a good all mountain ski...not great, but good....it carves good...I agree that they are very soft but I dont weigh much and im not high so its like the perfect flex for me cuz i dont like rigid skis for park...
