1080 Foils - surprise skis of the year

ok, get it straight. ive got k2's armadas and the foils cus my cousin works for a ski shop. i think the armadas are great for park and the k2's are great as well ,but in my opinion i see nothing wrong with the foils. i was on them today and they rip the shit outta all my other stuff. i dont know what the fuck u losers have against salomon but everyone i know that ACTUALLY RIDES THEM think they kick ass. my friend recently sold his PE's to get the foils cus he liked mine so much. the core is fine the ski kicks ass. FUCK OFF U DONT KNOW WHAT U R SAYING.

I love mine so far, I'm 6'2 190 and they're mounted +2. Only skied minimal park, but plenty good for the park riding I do. I've skied them mostly on the weird slush/crud pow we've been having, mostly steeps Kirkwood and Sugarbowl. Very impressed with they're ability in softer snow as they're a pretty short ski for me in the 182. great carver on groomers. Stick landings in soft snow. I do wish they were longer or that I hadn't mounted +2, just not enough lenght upfront for me. Maybe I should have gotten guns, either way they've still done way better out of the park than I expected from my 'park ski'.

Most people i know who ride/have ridden the foils loved them. And to the earlier comment of lange boots being better freeride. Well that is only if you dont have huge feet and ankles, some of us do.

Lange does make quality boots though, rode them most of my childhood with no technical problems at all.

EDIT: How many kids were riding in the park till those nice blue 1080s came out.

They are part of the strength behined the explosion of freeskiing

foam - rip out a binding with foam, your ski is done

wood - rip out a binding.. heli coil it. you still have a ski.

salomon can suck my balls

Have you rode any of this years Salomon skis? Probably not,so just shut the fuck up until you have actually rode a pair. I thought that they sucked until i rode them, and now they are my favorite ski.

The foam/wood debate is NOT dead. My 1080's were great the single season I had them. I babied them like crazy, but halfway through the season the things DID turn to noodles, which I had never experienced before with wood core skis. Quite simply, foam cores don't hold up with the same longevity wood cores do. You need to accept this fact, and stop humping Salomon.

They make great skis, but they just break down internally WAY quicker than any other ski I've ridden.

I dont know if anyone cares but im a big guy.......6 foot 3 comin close to 300lbs and i ride 161 1080's.....there short i know but man they are VERY agile buy yeah ive been skiing them alot for 3years and there good for me!! SALOMON RULES
