You're correct. RMU skis are made in the Are factory, guessing that was the mixup.

Wait i thought rmu moved out of the never summer factory and up across the boarder of VT in canada where they make J skis and 4frnt??

They've been all over the place the past several years so it's been tough to keep track, but I at least know that for the past 3 years, their stuff has come out of Are.

Yeah ngl I'm not really feeling this. Skis are relatively short and their profile is basically full camber with early rise. On top of that, their sidecut and tip/tail taper looks pretty generic. Not sure why I would buy these over on3p or vishnu or k2 etc

Weren’t they made at Meier factory for a little bit too?

if this ends up happening then that is very cool. would be kinda sick if they restricted the purchasing to only sweden as well. might even work in their favor demand wise

I would love to give them a try.

they need to figure out the length cap at 178 tho. Especially for the all mtn/pow ski. Im 5’11” and would never ride anything under 184.

If they truly are more environmentally friendly, then that is a huge plus in my book.

I'm vibing with these skis. They seem legit, the red top sheet and base looks clean af, and im stoked to see the rider list

We´re definitely looking in to longer (and shorter) skis but you gotta start somewhere :)

And we are working HARD to be the best we can be to the environment.

Everyone can hate. But I know a good chunk of us would love to try them all out

I hope there will be some ski tests in the US at some point. I bet when you try them you'll know what's up!

If Magnus supports them then I’m definitely intrigued because that’s a major brand he just left and a super high quality one too. But they definitely need something to set themselves apart otherwise I can’t see them lasting in the long run

We´re hoping the feeling of skiing 1000´s will do just that :)

Cap construction.......but why, is this 2002 Salomon?

It´s actually a sidewall construction with a slightly capped topsheet. It´s made that way for durability reasons and it gives a torsional flex we really like. :) and we hope it´s the legendary 1080´s you´re comparing us to :D

hackel is from massachussetts

I always find that weird, whenever I think of Hackel I’m like yeah Swedish/Norwegian dude he’s cool. But then I remember he’s a sox fan and I’m like oh shit, I wonder if he drinks a beer with his lucky chahms

"Wahh skis are too short"

Coming from the demographic of skiers who are probably on average shorter than 5'11 and ride gear well beyond their specifications. Give em a break, there's not even snow on the ground yet.

If your 5’11 and not riding a 185 true length or bigger, you a bitch

I don’t see this company lasting. I can respect the idea of an environmentally conscious brand but an overpriced blank cap construction ski just ain’t gonna be sustainable regardless of who is on your team. Also I find it funny they’re saying a cap ski is built for durability, I’ve never seen one last a competent rider more than a season.

Lol lots of unnecessary hate on this thread for a new ski brand that was probably started by a cool dude tryna do cool things by making the manufacturing process more sustainable.

i think these skis look pretty sick and I’m sure they ride nicely too. what’s up with everyone being like “yeah this company is done for”

Were these 1000 skis in the Is There Time For Matching Socks cover? Did anyone question the all red skis that nobody had seen before? Was this some foreshadowing that nobody picked up on? Are we blind?

Do people just not read? It’s not a cap. It’s sidewall with capped topsheet (some call it a step down - Line calls it capwall) to prevent chipping like many, many companies do now. Line, armada, Völkl.. just to name a few

I’m well aware of what it is, still doesn’t make it any better or more durable.

Well you sure were waxing poetic about cap. Have you ever splintered the hell out of a full sidewall topsheet to expose core?

dude that doesn't happen on full sidewall skis anymore in my experience. It happened all the time on my volkls back in the day but it never happens on my on3ps or vishnus and I ski a lot harder now

Ive been skiing 20+ years and was a ski tech for almost a decade. the only times I’ve ever seen that happen are on shitty full cap and cap wall skis because kids who buy them don’t know how to actually ride. Ive blown out one sidewall in my life on an old pair of Rossi’s after trying a disaster to the flat of a donkey for hours. Id suggest waiting to hype something up before anyone has even seen the product.

Völkl = abs sidewall

Vishnu/ON3P = UHMW-PE sidewall

I’m not hyping them up at all. I’m simply trying to have people reserve their judgment until there’s more known about them and people have tested them. I have 0 affiliation with them and I was never a bunch or an ON3P fanboy so it’s ludicrous to say I’m hyping them up. Just trying to be objective.

I'm curious who the people are behind the company. Seems like they are starting out like a lot of other companies that sadly didnt make it, big team and brand new.
