1000 skis

So I haven’t really heard of 1000 skis before the magnus speculation but is anyone really gonna ride them besides hardcore magnus fanboys? It’s like $830 for a pair and the park skis are just a red top sheet. For that price I could buy almost 2 pairs of vishnus which will last way longer and will have decent top sheets. I’m all for sustainable skis and whatnot but like $830 for just red skis is kinda monkey

If Magnus supports them then I’m definitely intrigued because that’s a major brand he just left and a super high quality one too. But they definitely need something to set themselves apart otherwise I can’t see them lasting in the long run

Also was just informed that the park skis max out at 178. Like tf is that. Didn’t know their target market is children

They are using CMDs old molds. I’m interesting in the all mountain. It looks like it’s very similar to the It by CMD. Also, the powder is similar to the Wizard by CMD.

Curious to see what people think when they try the skis

Yeah I feel like you’re only gonna see kids riding them after watching a video with everyone riding these bright red skis and them begging mom to buy them

It’s true tape. They posted on their story that the ski would be considered a 181 at most companies. I know CMD listed them as a 180.

$830 just seems extremely excessive for a cap ski tbh especially when they don’t make long sizes. tbf the shape on them looks wicked

How do you know anything about the durability though? But yeah the graphic gimic is worse then season eqpt

according to them they measure post press instead of pre press so they claim to be a 181 instead

Well on3ps are debatably the most durable park skis you can buy and they are high $700s. It’s still expensive but at least they have some cool top sheets and a good reputation to justify the price

Meeks with stock green base is $699.

That is really reasonable for on3ps considering how durable they are. My point in my other comment was that even if 1000 skis are super durable so are on3ps but they are a solid $100-$200 less depending on the model

Since I'm Canadian a pair of $700 on3ps costs almost $900 CAD which is way too much money (for me) to drop on a pair of park skis that will probably last approximately a season of hitting rails.

On their website they have a list of release dates when they’re announcing their team athletes. Never seen a company do that before

Cap construction.......but why, is this 2002 Salomon?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's more environmentally friendly, which seems to be a selling point they are banking on

Honestly I fuck with the vision hard. The pure red skis are dope, I think faction might have done it first tho.

The specs look super similar to the Faction CT series as well, at least the “Park” vs. The CT 1.0, however I don’t mind that because the Faction CT’s are super fun skis. Would recommend.

The skis look cool. Not gonna speculate about the durability, but I do think it would be better if their longest park ski was at least 180cm.

Still make a 187 park and a 190+ pow ski

I feel you. I been skiing 188 arvs mostly in recent years. I’m just sharing what they said about their size. Definitely a mental difference between reading 178 and 181.

If their 178 is the same as an armada or Faction or k2 180/181 then it’s worth noting so people understand how 1000s are measured. Then it’s a valid option for people lookin in that range instead of just disregarding them as too short.

Former CMD molds in Åre skifactory(excellent quality- icelantics, extrem and CMD). I really hope they pick up Syrja as he gets back from injury since he was on CMD before, would be such a dope rider for 1000/bunch. I have zero doubt about the skis, they will be top tier(and swedish, yay!)

For now; expect skiman, lsm, hackel and peybs. Maybe 5th member might be bmack(if not atleast give him the chance). I can tell you for sure the team is going 100% scandi since the reasoning behind leaving ON3P(possibly greatest skis EVER) is not about the skis itself but more environmental and longevity. Do not forget these guys need $ to continue amaze us with all the content they are pumping out. As they get older- starting your own business to support your lifestyle is nothing else but smart and correct.

I wish them all the best. I will for sure support 1000/bunch as a swede since I too believe in local products.

i thought icelantics were made in denver at the never summer factory where they also make fatypus??

kinda like the plain graphic, would love to draw on them and make my own graphic. might buy them if i have the money. wonder about the durability but time will tell.

Can confirm fat-ypus and icelantic are never summer factory. Guessing Judo was trying to say the quality will be on par or something along those lines

You're correct. RMU skis are made in the Are factory, guessing that was the mixup.
