100% proof that global warming is true

yea there's proof for stuff like global warming and evolution and a great deal of other things but people just choose to ignore that on the basis of:

What makes your facts more right than my opinions?
 
Well my main point is no one can truely know what will happen over the next two years let alone 2 million so lets not jump to hasty conclusions on very limited facts over a short period of time.
 
First of all, do you actually know anything about ice ages? have you studied them? Because it really seems like you haven't.

The major driving force behind ice ages isn't george bush, or SUVs. What is thought to cause them is something called Croll-Milankovitch cycles, these are changes in the earths orbit that can reduce or increase the amount of insolation energy the earth receives. Graphs comparing these cycles to ice ages show a very positive correlation. Incidentally these cycles don't occur over millions of years, the longest is around 125'000. Notice I didn't use the word 'proof' nor did I in my other post. Proof is a highly subjective term. If you want to start arguing about the philosophy of science we can do it in another thread.

I didn't say anything about the entire scientific community agreeing either, I said 'pretty much the entire scientific community' because people will always disagree. Don't put words into my mouth just so you can look like you're right about something.

As for the Earths abilty to heal itself, I'm not underestimating it, I don't fully understand it, no-one does, but I would wager that I know more about environmental feedback loops and thresholds than you do. This is beside the point anyway, damaging the earth and hoping it can sort it out isn't a sustainable policy.

I'm saying you and your friend are ignorant because you don't seem to know what you're talking about, you haven't looked into the science behind climate change, you don't even seem to understand the basic principles. The only conclusion I can draw is that you've been taken in by someones propaganda machine, exactly like you accused me of being.
 
He was obviously making a joke about people blaming SUVs and George Bush. Do you actually know anything about reading comprehension? Because it really doesn't seem like you do. It was a joke - this thread was created as a joke - and you are a joke.
 
Do you honestly think that I took what he said seriously? I was simply referencing back to the point of that sentence, that no-one knows what cause ice ages, when they actually do.

Yeah, this thread was a joke, but unfortunatly some horribly misinformed people started spouting rubbish, so, being bored, I felt the need to correct them.

If you can't answer any of the points I've made why don't you just admit that you really don't know shit about climate change.
