$100 fine for smoking in car!

protects the kids from secondhand, not a bad idea, that shit can come back to bite them in the ass health-wise later in life even if they never actually smoked themselves.
 
second hand smoke is inevitable.. its going to happen regardless of where you are. Just crack a window. I don't know, I think it's retarded.
 
they figure if they start putting in enough laws where you cant smoke in certain places youll eventually quit from not being able to smoke
 
That will aid in nothing. The second hand smoke is still there. I think this is a great law to have if there are children in the car. Might as well just hand your 5 year old a cigarette if you're gonna smoke one yourself.
 
I am actually happy this law has been adopted cause Im a anti-smoker supporter. The government is forcing people to quit whether they like it or not. In the end, it is all benefits. People wont have to suffer second hand smoke, your insurgence will drop and your resale of the car is better.

 
you have to think the bid picture, without smokeing, and the tax on cigs, the govermnent will make less money on the sale tax, hospitals will lose money too because they get money each time a person goes in with lung cancer from tobacco. So in reality the goverment will never really stop selling ciggerettes.
 
Exactly, having a window down doesn't do shit. think about, when you open a window the air comes rushing IN not OUT. Just means the unfortunate people in the back sit in a cloud of smoke. Also, the poisons and toxins from the cigarettes hang around after the cigarettes finished. I hate being in a car when people are smoking, its just disrespect for the people that don't smoke, especially if there are kids in the car.
 
You insurgence will drop huh? I think its funny that most of you guys that are all for the bans on smoking in public and even private places, would be all for marijuanna being legalized.
 
the thread title needs to have "with children in car" added to it. its very misleading until you read the article which i doubt a lot of people do

Whatever happened to people caring about personal freedoms? I don't smoke cigs, but who am I to tell someone else they can't. By now, everyone who smokes knows that tobacco causes cancer, yet they do it anyways, because they like to smoke tobacco. And while it is good to keep kids away from second hand smoke, I'm assuming most parents have more sense than to fishbowl their car when their toddler is riding shotgun. The governator should grow a pair and quit signing shitty bills.
 
to my knowledge the second hand smoke from weed does not cause cancer. and i dont think this needs to turn into another pro/anti pot debate thread.
