with out skiing snowboarding wouldn't exist, with out snowboarding the new school revolution wouldn't have started. people wouldn't have been like 'hey i can that on my skis too' so we need to respect both sides but still have a fun friendly rivalry and call your friends knuckle draggers and what not, the friendship is the best part of snow sports, we all want to have a good time and we can do it together

Yamatom is right.... tanner's style originated from guys like MFM and crawford... and now the sports style basically evolves around tanner.... we should all hug a snowboarder because they helped bring terrain parks/videos/contests to the stage.

snowboarding is cool, and alot of people that do it are cool, but what pisses me off is how its so important, and people that dont do any snow sports automatically think its cool and even mentioning skiing will get them to start like shouting 'GAY GAY GAY, SKIINGS GAY!!!' the sad thing is i have alot of boarder friends and all of them are down with skiing, its just the idiots who dont do anything that bitch us out

I agree with 4D, its not even so much snowboarders that give skiiers shit, its ignorant fucks that dont do snowsports. Like alot of people I Bmx with are like'youre not going riding today cause youre going gay skiing'

anyways...the only issue i have witrh sboards at all is that they fuck up the inruns and landings on shit with that board wide track they make.

other than that this is mumbo jumbo.

 
i'd say i dont care, and that theyre cool and stuff... but at least in the blackcomb park... they all crowd around the top inrun randomly shouting 'dropping' while simulaneously slipping closer and closer to the first hit so eventually you have to fucking skate to get enough speed... big hoardes of retarded boarders... it makes for some rough snaking.

dude your all stupid ask a pro about this. k hart made a twin tip in da 1960's-1970's some crazy guy was nailing front 1's and flairs off all sorts of stuff, this was even before snowboards had twin tips. there was just no one to pioneer it. kelly clark saw the design and made a board with a tip on the back. skiers landed 180's before snowboarders.

Canonskier- Tanner didnt start that gurillia thing, maybe he got it more reconized do to his high competitive profile but pollard defint desereves some seriouse reconisition. Not debating your post, just saying if your gonna use an example use Polard or dash.

i wish i snowboarded, but ive been skiing too long and love it too much. i think its way more pleasing to watch a good snowboarder than a good skier.

all im saying is that tanner brought it to the masses. And i dont dig tanner, and pollard is my fave skier, so i dont think they have the same style at all, its impossible to compare the two. Tanner is forcing a gorrilla style, pollard is relaxed. Its a big differnece in my book. the only reason i brought it up is because tanner always says in interviews that he poached the style from guys like MFM and crawfor, so i thought it was appropriate for the thread!

I agree, I wouldn't say that Pollard has a Guerilla style. Hes chill when he skis, and it just happens to work extremely well for him. Watch his segments, and youll see in all his spins that by the time hes at 180 hes already grabbing his ski in some way. He's already in a relaxed position ready to grab. That's what's so sweet about Erics style. Tanners is forced, you see him constantly pushing his arms down and hunching over, and its decent-looking, but its doesn't have the same relaxed look as Pollard. Tanner does have mad skills though, I'm not denying that.
