10 year old kid almost chokes to death on chair lift

this is so gay people sue for everything now i wish it was against the law to sue unless under physical anguish. it sounds to me like it was the stupid kid's fault.

'this is just like sex, only im having it!'

basically they want to get money for there kid being an idiot

upset.. yes. but they need to understand that suing does nothing good for anybody but them... if they sue they will go to hell where they will eternaly be hung by their backpacks over pits of fire

The kid's ten. Part of the liftie's job is to make sure everyone gets on safety (or I assume). If there is a small kid getting on the chair with a backpack they should have made him take it off.

I don't think you could sue if you want to, theres probably some kind of waiver you theoretically sign when you buy a lift ticket. Or else every single person who ever hurt themselves skiing or boarding could sue.

i just say that on the news. he fell into pow and its his own falt for falling of the chair in the first place

dont get it twisted

dam no wa they should sue, its not the resorts fault the kd is dumb, he shoudve taken off the pack, thats like sing for fallin off the cahir, fuckin stupid people doin stupid shit

If he fell off the lift, then the backpack gave him a few extra moments before the enevitable fall anyway. Is that grounds to sue? No. He fell out of the fuckin' chairlift.

Plus, don't you think my $73 lift ticket is enough? Sueing will only make it higher and perpetuate this nation's legal and insurance problems. Don't sue, the kid feel out of the chairlift and then got caught on his backpack, it's his fault

it is the liftie's job to make sure that nobody gets hurt when something goes wrong. there are signs at the entrance of every lift warning people to check themselves for loose clothing. it also happens to be a parent's responsibility to make sure that their own fucking kids are safe. this might include checking their kid for loose clothing before letting them get on the lift. so, i don't think that anybody should sue pc for their own incompetence as parents.

tell us your real name so that we can track you down and destroy you so we never have to read another worthless post from you

Ahh too bad Darwinism didnt really take place. I say if ur stupid enough to die like that u should be dead. Survival of the fittest. And this is exactly whata wrong with america these days. Everybody is getting sue happy trying to make the quick buck. It's so fucked up.

I think I should go skiing naked, get frostbite, then sue the resort because it was cold out and they didn't warn me.

When somebody yells 'SLOW DOWN!!' Yell back 'I DID'

maybe he woulda died if he wasnt wearing a backpack... so technically they should thank them for not telling him to take off his backpack

something similar happened to my friend, who, at the time, was quite a deal older than 10 yrs, but anywho, had suspender pants but wasn't wearing the straps, just letting them dangle when a clasp got caught in the chair. He was fine till he tried to get off and couldn't ski away from the chair, which swang around, hit him in the back and knocked him on his belly. He was then draged through the useless stop gate, the snow on the other side of the disembarking area, before being suspended like 10 feet in the air before the lifties stopped it. There he is, everyone laughing, including a couple lifties who were not doing anything but laughing, while he had the biggest wedgie of his life!!!!

Are you kidding me? If anybody should be sued, it should be the parents for letting their unsupervised ten-year-old kid go by himself. The people who are responsible for him first and foremost are the parents. That was incredibly irresponsible of them to let him go up by himself, much less with a backpack on. The lifties can only pay attention to so much, especially during a weekend like that when I'm sure it was mad busy because of the storms dumping snow.

I feel bad for the kid but how does he fall off the chair...Ever hear of restraint bars?If they did sue i tthink every skier would dispise his family...and it would be a bad bad blow to the mountain and they would prob have to raise ticket prices and stuff

yeah the lifty should have done something because he was at the bottom of the lift right next to the tower if i remember correctly and it's messed up that they didn't but the kid shouldn't have had his backpack on either so it all evens out.

im personally gone sue every fuckin resort in north america so all you fucks cant ski anymore. if the family wants to sue, let them. its thier problem not thiers. A. they were prolly just upset that there kid just died and B. it prolly wont happen. besides pc is not goin to foreclose becasue they got sued.

XxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXx

i have nothing to say

XxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXx

well the lifty might be involved but come on dont sue for that it could happen to anyone, with my school ski club now we have to ski with guides(which unless theyre cool we'll ditch quickly) because ppl were suing WHistler-Blackcomb when they were getting injured...how ridiculous is THAT?

Gravity sucks

God created alcohol so that ugly ppl could still have sex.

if the kid is dumb enough to not take his backpack off, then he deserves to choke.

as for sueing ski resorts...you can go fuck yourself and fall off the face of the earth if you are into sueing ski areas....

work to live...not live to work.

work to ski...but only if you ski to work. The simple equation to skibumming 101

...i didnt do it

Yeah I hate America, it is soo fucked up and common sense along with trust among strangers has pretty much all but gone away.

Yes it is part of the lift mans job to make sure the kid gets on safely. And the kid clearly did get on safely. And some people keep one strap on their backpacks on the lift. But what about the parents. Why was their ten year old kid skiing alone. And what did he do while on the lift that resulted in him falling. How can u blame the resort for this. Should we have a resort worker on every chair to protect us? The parents are just as liable as the resort and if they win in a lawsuit, then i am moving to canada

that's a fuckign random occurance...if his parents sue

#1 you won't have a place to ski

#2 they can't win a lawsuit by saying their kid was messing around and fell off the lift

#3 it's not the operator's fault, they can't watch all the way up the lift!

hardcore lousiana fanboat shit

'fuck! there's a damn boulder on the slope'

'put butter on my butt and call me a biscuit!'

if his parents win the lawsuit, i hope theyre skiing somewhere else all rich a nd happy cuz they screwed over the resort and suddenly the lift stops and they get strangled 2 death by their back packs

Ski New Jersey

it's actually not a super big deal if they sue. park city gets sued, and settles, numerous times during every year. if his parents sue, they will just be on the long list of assholes who sue park city. not really a huge deal.

So did this kid actually hurt himself physiccally at all either from the choking or the fall?

I saw this kid get his back pack caught on the chair lift when he took it off and everything. He dangled like 15 feet in the air and shit...he was with his mom, who got off the chair saftly. I don't think they sued..
