that, the references to all the sweet 80's ski movies, and the part about mammot being "more like a remote snowboard research colony or a snowboard space station, but definitely not a snowboard TOWN" are my favorites...fucking hilarious
 
The movie was made in 2000. It was called "Afterbang" They invented the term, and the definition ("a desperate compensation for lack of style after landing")
Their point was to poke fun at it, and if you ever watch the whole movie (which is a classic) you will get it.
 
Yes. And I worded it wrong, we didn't entirely perfect the afterbang, nor is it a new creation, but skiing has given it new life. But that's beside the point of this thread anyway...Symms nailed a home run with that article, funny shit

and those top tne things were killer haha. except the moguls one who the fuck was thinkning that. Snowboarder probably wrote that.
 
Robot Food is the film company. They also made Lame, Afterlame, etc. Their movies are awesome.
They (along with the Moonshine Conspiracy) pretty much started the movement of action sports movies focusing on happiness and fun instead of always trying to look super cool and badass.

Although I think skiing is way better than snowboarding, I don't really agree with that list. I think snowboarders send it so much bigger in the backcountry, their jumps are usually huge. and Thats it Thats all was pretty fucking epic, and some of the creative stuff they do is pretty cool. Then again they have more options to do things because they can 50/50 and jumping off of shit or over shit makes for a good shot where as if a skier did it, it would just be dumb.
 
skiers literally it ONE bc jump last year that came close to the size of the jumps travis rice and friends hit all year... soooooo you're dumb. Skiers are dope and so are snowboarders... big deal.

I like skiing more because of the lack of posers if you see a freeskier it is very unlikly that they are a poser they are usually trying very hard to get better. There is alot more drive in freeskiers, you will see soooooo many snowboarders just ride on and off boxes for a full weekend with no progression

because snowboarders have to take five minutes when they get off the lift, to put their snowboard on, skiers can just go, snowboarders also cant ride on flat ground, unless they hop.
 
Im not against snowboarders. we all go out to the mountain for the same reason. im just against the ones that talk shit, totally suck. and just sit down in the middle of a jump. But otherwise snowboarding is pretty cool. I have just as much respect for them as I respect skiing.

I think everyone on this site thinks the same way including the writer of the article, john symms. It was just for fun and I really enjoyed reading it. I did have one problem though, Out Cold was better than any blockbuster ski movie ive seen.
 
one reason why your a fucking retard. search teleboarding on google and then come back and talk shit about how telemark skiing is gay. some people like to telemark, and its what they want to do. i have seen people teleboarding, and i think its pretty cool

haha every time someone talks about afterbang I think of that movie first. I thought it was from 2004 though for some reason. maybe thats when i first heard of it.
