10 hardest runs in the east

well im gunna have to claim the home town shit and say for a ski resort the slides at whiteface gotta be right up there. Hit them early and after a good dump and you can find yourself in past waist deep snow if you know where to look.

No one knows about it really but avalance pass/ the trap dike on mt colden are crazy, i have seen people hike up and do them and the trap dike especially is nuts. I hope to make the trip up there this year for it, ill try to find some pictures.

Oh I appreciate how good I have it, the powder skis in my room are a testament to that. I just feel for you guys and wish you could come visit.

ive skied some backcoutnry in the adk high peaks, marcy van-hovenberg trail in april and also the wright peak ski trail.

im looking to do some slides on colden, the slides on wright, and a tree run off of phelps

skiier on Avalance slide

crazy shit in the high peaks these are two spots that are amazing but its a hike and a half out to them

^its not that bad... to the farther out ones, yes, it takes like 45 min... but the first one is only like 10 mins out. crazy picture by the way

The east reps it pretty hard here on NS which is sweet, but I hope you guys still try to get out west. For me, I skiied the east one day and the ice basically wanted to make me shoot myself, and I am definitely no snow snob~

La S is a lot of fun ... la 42 even more, if it's the one I'm thinking about ... is it the one besides la Charlevoix?

the slides- whiteface

paradise- MRG

face chutes/tuckermans- jay

and rumor- gore, especially the woods off to the side of it. you need a shitton of snow to hit it though.

and im suprized how much props gore has gotten, even though the majority of it was steezyjibber/skiray

The scar was cut illegally, I'm not sure when but you can see it from the chairlift on Sterling. Its just a big gash you access it from the bottom or robbins run, right where it turns from steep to flat.

face chutes at jay is actually off the front of the 100 man tram to the right... how could i forget. its packed with tiny evergreens that block vision and of any hope of getting out... Once your in your in.. and there is no way out. random cliff drops inside it dont help either. if you dont think this is the hardest run you can suck my nards

agreed, gore has some fun "hidden" glades too that have some semi steep sections, not wuite as steep as the headwall but fairly close.

by hidden, i mean gaper prooof.

i skis them in shit snow one time and i didnt think it was that bad. more frustrating having little trees snag your heels on every 4th turn. Really though i think slide 4 at whiteface is much much harder then what i saw from that. Both are a ton of fun but i just feel like the mix you get from slide 4 makes it a harder trail

first off that "run" you skiied is just a 500 ft cliff with a series of ledges to slow ur fall and try to turn on, and I think as far as in bounds goes, the scar perhaps?

It's cool that the high peaks region is getting recognized in this thread. T-man, thats a sweet pic of the gothics! I've done the north face slide (obvious line lookers left). I do believe anything on that face to the right is suicide for skiers. More of an ice climbing destination. For whoever skis in the Daks, try Dix Mt. There are some sweet slides on there as well. Icy as fuck, but like anything in that region, you have to hit it just right. Someone else was talking about Wright Peak. I believe the slides in that area are called Angels slides. Def. sweet skiing! It certainly beats a lift ticket and lines.

before they made that into a trail it was hard.

but id say the back bowls of killington, its out of bounds so watch out for the 100 foot cliff.

some of those trails at mad river glen are pretty rough, cant think of the names of them but when the bumps get all iced up u better get your shit together

I'm not sure where your coming from, I am a local at both Snowbird and Smugglers Notch, VT. So I think I have a better opinion than you do.
