10 Dead at Dark Knight Rises Premiere in Denver

Yeah he said something to the arresting officers about his apartment being booby trapped with explosives - theyre bringing in hazmat teams and word is there is a shit ton of flammable/explosive material in the apartment all rigged
 


This is so fucking disgusting, its like shooting fish in a barrel, here are people who are exactly like me just excited to see the final installment of batman enjoying it with the rest of the world, and then this psychotic piece of shit comes into and ruins their lives for ever.

I want this man and anyone who finds this comical to be tortured for the rest of their lives. Kill him slowly, use him for testing what certain diseases do to the human body, give him cancer, aides, anything and just let him rot in a cell.

I can't believe how a human can do this to other humans, i can barely kill a mouse.
 
Holy shit. Scary as hell to think I live like 15 minutes away from that theatre. RIP to all the victims and good luck to those in the hospital right now.
 
This kind of thing makes me so sad, and part of me feels like this shooting taking place at a batman movie wasn't because of numbers necessarily, This guy is a short step down from the villains in the batman movies, and I can't help but feel like some inspiration could have come from characters like bane, the joker, and the scarecrow. That could be a stupid theory but the fact that he booby trapped his apartment, and gassed the theater makes me wonder what his motive was. Much love though to the victims and the friends and families.
 
I understand this is hitting close to a lot of you because of geographic proximity and that a bunch of you also went to a premiere in your area, but we live in violent times. This has been the sort of threat we have been facing for a long long time. This could have happened at any movie theater anywhere in the country anytime in recent history. This is not new.

Its a sad day we live in and I don't have much answer for it. I just want to be clear that this is not a new phenomenon. At the very least, always be alert and prepared, and always kiss your loved ones goodbye. That seems to be the best you can do these days.

Again, I feel for everyone in that movie theater. It must of been pure horror. Those that survived are surely haunted by what they endured.

Here in Colorado is a day of mourning, one thing special about us here in Colorado and the United States is when something like this happens we have a community to rely on. Aurora mental health facilities will be open 24/7 until further notice for anyone tramuatized by this situation. Please Pray For Those Affected, and a prosperous future for the Community of Colorado.

 
Even though it's early my local theater usually would have a good amount of people in it, drove by and there was maybe four cars in the parking lot

There's just this aura of sadness sitting over Colorado right now, it's terrible
 
I honestly won't be going to a movie theatre for a while because of this and I think a lot of others are the same. Guarantee this movie won't be making nearly as much money at the box office this openning weekend because of what this piece of shit did
 
BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: The CALL7 Investigators have learned the suspected gunman bought a ticket to the Batman movie, sat down for about 15 minutes, and then propped open the back door to the theater when it was dark. The gunman then went back to his car and parked it in the back of the theater, dressed himself in full armor, grabbed the guns and went in through the open back door.
 
Fuck the death penalty. Expensive death serum to make it "painless". That defeats the point. it should be the most painful death possible.

Maybe if the USA weren't such fucking pussies, we would put fucks like this in a pit without food or water and let them die an agonizing death.

in other countries you get life in solitary confinement for way less than this. he should be left in a 5x5 cell with a bucket to shit in and a single bowl of water to bathe and drink for a week. no human contact ever. let his sick fucking mind drive him crazy for the rest of his miserable existance. that news really makes me sick.
 
Warner Brothers cancelled the Paris Premiere and cancelled all the TV ads for dark night rises, they even thought about cancelling all the showings in Colorado.
 
Come on, man. Don't be like those crackpot pundits who already draw those dumbass conclusions. It was a crowded premeire with a lot of press and exposure going into it. That is what exactly draws a psychopath like this, is the infamy. As for the mask, he used tear gas. He planned it out well and it is a very sad tragedy, but don't add to that crap out there.
 
I didnt mean it from a juvenile stand point. Just the amount of times I've heard people reference "multikills" when looking at large amounts of people. like I realize taking alot of lives has always been away of "making a point" and getting attention but I'm just saying video games glorify the idea.
 
i'm not drawing any conclusions, no one has any idea what was going through his head, It just seems like he put quite a bit more thought into it than most people have in shootings similar to these in the past. I'm not trying to say batman characters necessarily inspired him or anything like that. I just think it's wild that this happened at a dark knight premiere, because I can imagine an event like this happening in a batman movie. I'm not trying to create some "dumbass conclusion" I just think that he was definitely fueled by more than just publicity.

If I may add to the gun discussion: Switzerland has one of the most liberal gun laws in Europe/the Western World, similar to the U.S. Crime rate isn't even close, though.

Nothing to do with guns. Much more with social cohesion and the lack thereof.
 
death penalty and prison for life are both wrong they should kill these fucked up bastards in a quick very painful way which does NOT cost much at all. death penalty is only costly because of the pussification of america and someone thinks that you need to kill someone who killed many others in a peaceful way even though this dude just light up a fucking movie theather and had a plan to get a head count. people cant even feel safe anymore while simply watching a movie cause of him yet he deserves to die quickly and painlessly? tie him down on train tracks or something. and if theyre gonna put him in for life, like others have said, he better be in isolation in a tiny room so he can rot physically and mentally
 
No fuck that. A far better process that could actually help prevent tragedies like this one would be to psychoanalyze the fuck out of guys like this for the rest of their lives. Put them under stress tests, psychological torture, water boarding, and everything else and see how they react. Try to find a cause and a solution.
 
The killer is claiming to be "the joker".... the guy is obviously clinically insane. Everyone on the news keeps talking about how normal he is and how quiet and calm he has always been, but the most insane people are the quiet ones.

Not to sound like an ass, but why would anyone want to listen to that? That is disgusting. This is not a movie those are actually people scared for their lives seeing people around them get shot.
 
Why do people have to be so fucked up. I was so stoked to see this movie and now I'm all apprehensive.
 
modern world sucks! Fuck make the crime penalties actually cruel so they wont even consider doing shit like this. Make him suffer alone, in some russian shitty jail. Slowly suffer into death.

If you steal, cut one hand. Steal again? Cut another hand. Another problem solved. No health care for criminals, also. Sometimes this modern civilisation just seems ridiculous..
 
I think what makes society better as a whole is by not stooping to the criminals level with our punishments. But it's fucked up that this will create fear about going to the theatre or being in public spaces in general.
 
my logic normally would be that "come on man nothings gonna happen" but thats what all these people thought. its so fucked. shit can happen at anytime anywhere.
