10 Dead at Dark Knight Rises Premiere in Denver

You do realize that putting someone to death costs waypre for the state than putting them away for life right? Let that fucker rot in prison

Many victims are still in critical condition or in surgery right now. Vibes and prayers that everyone pulls through.

Yeah because I'm sure this guy was liscenced to a fuckin AK.

My heart goes out to all people and families associated with this tragedy. Can't believe this stuff goes on.

I live in aurora, and multiple people I know were injured. This guy I went to high school with was also shot multiple times and is in the hospital. It saddens me that we have to live in a world like this. My thoughts go out to all the people effected.

per the AP, his apartment is booby trapped with sophisticated explosives and flammable devices, buckets of bullets. Area is evacuated for now.

This dude was apparently a registered democrat (not that that matters, as I could give two shits what his political affiliation is), was at CU-Denver trying to get a PhD in Neuroscience of some sort. Dropped out in June, Moved to Aurora about 1 year 2 months ago.

His mother seems to imply he was mentally unstable when she confirmed "you have the right guy." lived in California near Riverside for some time, though his truck had Tennessee plates. No word yet where he got the guns.

Story is developing.

You do realize that I said the cops shoulda put a bullet in his head, not we should give him the death penalty right?

Vibes to everyone affected, especially the wounded who may not be out of the woods yet.

Does anyone know if the movie was significant to the shooter other than it just being a densely populated place?

What? I bet there are a lot. My aunt lives in Aurora, which is suburb of Denver. This is so scary, what the fuck was he thinking????!

Shit, just woke up a bit ago from going to the premier and have been seeing this all over the news. So fucked up that you never know where that could happen. I hope the death toll stops rising.

Dat smile. Creepy

this shit is so fucked up. its horrible what just one person can do when they go off the deep end.

here we go, another death penalty thread.

Please keep this one on topic guys. That is insanely fucked up. Who does that?

fuck. this sucks so bad. people are sick, twisted, awful individuals sometimes. fuuuuuuuck. so close to home too, why does shit like this happen in CO dammit.

Well to the two above posters. 1. It cost about $30,000 a year to put someone in prison for a year if he stays in Co. 2. He could be in prison for 20 + years before he is put to death which also comes with a high price tag.

I know :(

It's always fucking Colorado. I don't get why. All these shootings make this state get a weirder and weirder vibe. So sad. Colorado used to be such a safe and happy place.

Man this guy on CNN right now was sitting right next to a guy that got shot and killed. Seems like he had one of those near death experiences that changes a man. crazy stuff.

its simple to think its ALWAYS colorado man. this shit happens all over. Virginia Tech??? that psycho here in PA that shot up an amish childrens school??? Fucked up people are everywhere.

Apparently this shit was posted o 9gag? Never been to the site, dont know shit about it - but apparently they were telling him waht to do and how to do it as well as supporting him

I have no validity to these rumors other than what you read here..no idea if this is just another prank by some sick fuck that thinks this shit is funny - just thought I'd post in on here for all the other fucking internet dorks

Sorry fell asleep. My friend says the guy kicked in the fire door right after the opening credits. Everyone thought he was part of the show because he looked like Bane. Then he tossed the tear gas, thats when my friend hid under his seat thankfully. Soon as the gas started pouring out he opened fire on the top rows first. Then as everyone was running out he started shooting at the exits. He said the shooter didn't really move. Didn't chase anyone to the lobby either. He just stood front and center as he shot. He was in there for nearly 15 minutes before 10 cops came in pointing shotguns at the guy. Me and some friends we're talking about what theater we want to go to last night. Talking about that same theater. I have a weird feeling in my stomach because I know how easily it could of been us there. Keep CO in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever. We don't need this right now.

I am from Colorado, and this is absolutely horrible that anything like this happens anywhere. However, I have always thought about the people above me freaking out about things like this saying "how can this happen??" "why is it always CO???" that they are completely out of tune with the world. There is a civil war going on in syria, a bus of jews was blown up in bulgaria, kidnappings in Mexico are rising to outrageous numbers, and multiple suicide bombings have claimed hundreds more lives in the past few months across the mid-east.

In no way do I mean to detract from the horror that was this event, but we do need to realize that we live in a relatively safe country. I guess my point is that while fucked up things like this happen in the US, there are many fucked up events that are an integral part of life in some areas of the world.

another thing that is so creepy about this, is that the guy looked like the villain in the movie. I would assume he did that on purpose but I have no real idea.

but according to the news here locally, he bought a ticket to the movie, came out and exit, propped the door open, moved his car, then went in the exit door. after that they havent said.

The guy was in one of the first few rows when he answered his phone and walked out the same front emergency door. My guess is he needed a way to keep that door propped open that wasn't too suspicious.

this guy should be tortured just like on law abiding citizen. and it should be on public television.

i wonder if this wouldn't have happened if gun laws in USA weren't so slack? i bet it still would have happened.

anyways

RIP victims, and i hope the families get to watch this guy be slowly and painfully put to death.

Vibes to the victims and their families. It's awful that we can't even go to the movies with our families on a Friday night without wondering if we could be in danger
