10 Dead at Dark Knight Rises Premiere in Denver

It's the theater, I used to live about five minutes from their, every night of the week you will see kids (like 10-13 year olds) at the 10 pm showings of movies.

Terrible that this happened. Vibes to all of the victims and their families.
 
no shit they had the right to kill this guy...We pay for thousands of drug sentences that should just be a simple petty crime. I have no problem having my taxes go up .00005 cents to watch this guy rot in a cell the rest of his life
 
This/These shooter(s) were going for body count. He had a vest on, tons of ammo, tear gas, and an AK. So fucked, many of the people that are alive now are critically injured.
 
The only thing that makes sense to me is if they dressed up like characters from the movie. Just like halloween, everyone assumes its all fun and games and all it takes is one psycopath. Batman has a cape, iduno im just guessing but.
 
No, he kicked in the emergency door, threw tear gas in and opened fire. 50 people in the hospital from this. It's all over Denver news this morning.
 
good lord... it feels like I ask this way too much nowadays but what the hell is wrong with people?

At first when I saw the posts about it on twitter I thought that the swedish newspapers had been trolled super hard (it has happened before), it sounded too fucked up to be true.

Update from 50 peole in hospital from this. Not everyone is a shoting victim. Some people have minor injuries from the kaos or tear gas burns.
 
what a tragedy. my prayers go out to the victims and I hope this waste of breath rots in prison until he's 100.
 
Aw fuck I just posted in the other thread asking what happened and this is wha happened. I went to high school in aurora and used to go to this theater, oddly enough i have always had a fear of some one shooting up a movie theater. Seems simple exits are always unlocked and there are so few. This is so sad Fuck the guy who did this what a piece of shit.

My boss is from Denver, I just told him about this and he's freaking out. I wouldn't like to be the attorney representing this guy, guaranteed they play it off as insanity and send him to a comfy asylum. Fuck that, or prison, kill him.

Agreed. Prisons are too comfy these days anyway. Sane or not, you take this many lives I feel the justice system should take your life in return.

Fuck use the buzzword of the decade and call it terrorism and I bet people would be more likely to go for the death penalty. Does CO even do the death penalty??
 
holy fuck, I just realized where this is now. that theatre is about a minute walk from my recruiters office.
 
In 2008 it cost an average of $28,759 a year to house someone in prison in CO. That is $115,036 for only 4 years. And that is taxpayers money right there, more than the average college student pays for in state tuition over 4 years....how sad is that? You said comfy. This is straight free housing... free dental, free meals, free health, free almost everything.

Bad people do bad things everywhere. None of the probably 100 laws this guy broke last night did any good stopping him. So don't start with the gun thing.
 
This, no matter what, if people are crazy they'll find a way to do it. This man is clearly insane, and for taking 10+ lives he shouldn't deserve to live a happy life, even prison might be too cozy. Vibes to all the families :(.
 
It's going to be really interesting to see how this whole story unfolds. I wonder if his motives were connected to the film or if he was just fucking nuts. Also, given how easily this happened, its got me kind of nervous that there may be some copy cat killers in the next couple months.
 
I have a feeling we're going to see movie theaters respond to this by making shit more safe. Especially if, as said above, this ends up being labeled as terrorism.
 
Yeah hopefully they can find the right balance. I wanna be safe but I don't wanna have to go through airport security just to see a movie.
 
Bad people do bad things but gun laws enable people to access deadly weapons. Sorry but US gun laws are fucking way too lax.

if someone really wants to shoot 14 people in a theater, he will get his hands on guns no matter what the laws say

the problem with metal detectors in movie theaters, is that this man went through an emergency exit.
 
so they are taking extreme caution entering his apartment because he said that their is explosives inside.

why not make the bastard walk right into his apartment, let the explosives take care of him.
