I just want to see what others think. I ski inwest central BC and Alberta, these will be my pow skiis cause i have park skiis. i get prob anywere from 15 to 30 plus pow days so.

I've tried both and think they are both good skis.Personally out of those two for powder I would go Obsethed (I am a charger).
My Stats5'9''135lbsI ski fast, aggressive, will be doing freeride competitions in the future, and stick to off-piste terrain.I am currently on the 2008 168cm Volkl Gotama, which is far too short for me.

183 Bent ChetlerI understand now why this ski sold out in December: it's that good. This was the most playful ski, along with being the lightest. Coming from a 105mm ski, I was impressed on how it doesn't feel like a really fat ski on groomers. On my groomed run, it performed well, with some slight tip flap when I was going fast, but still felt stable. I was able to do any turn I wanted, its especially excellent in shorter turns. In the powder and crud the Bent Chetler held up extremely well, and was lots of fun to be on. High speed straighlines were the Bent Chetler's worst skiing, and it did ok. This ski is a playful skiers daily driver.
179 ObsethedI came to the demo wanting to try a variety of skis, with differing rocker and flex patterns, so I came to the Obsethed for the super soft ski. Honestly going in I had low expectations, and was blown away. First of all this ski is scary soft, especially in the tip, and almost the entire ski is rockered. However, it's stable and fun. The rocker did chatter on groomers, but in off-piste snow it was pretty good, as long as I stayed out of the backseat. All turn types were possible, and the Obsethed was excellent in softer snow. This is too soft for a daily driver, but it was a good ski, including the graphics . I think this is what the S7 intended to be.

from what i can tell having fondled the obsetheds they are more straight line oriented powder specific skis. bentchetlers are better all around

thats a really shitty reply but the amount of tip rocker in obsetheds is huge while the tail rocker is minimal. kind of wierd but id like to try them. but with the lack of edge touching snow i would say theyd be better pow specific

if you're doing more BC freestyle and throwing tricks in the pow then the Bent Chetlers. If you like to do more charging and skiing lines then Obsetheds. I personally would choose the Bent Chetlers. I also think they would be a good choice for you seeing that you get 15-30 pow days. I don't really know about the flex of the Bent Chetlers but the Obsetheds are a stiffer pow ski and would maybe do a bit better in crud or on harder snow.

and I'm pretty sure that petit uses the obsethed right now. i wouldn't rule them out as a playful ski...

yeah, the flex and rocker make the ski pretty playful, but there are softer and more playful pow skis out there.

i'd call the obsethed a medium flex. it did little for me, its like a stiffer narrower hellbent now. nothing about that ski evoked great confidence from me, but i did ski it in far from ideal conditions (boiler plate and spring slush), but i just wasnt happy with what that ski has turned into. not stiff enough to be a true charger, too specific a shape to be more jib-specific pow ski. its an ok compromise as a do all pow ski.

if you like to play, check the new sir francis bacon or the bent chetlers. bacon is a bit more versatile while retaining its soul as a stupid happy jib ski with pow mindset, and the bent chetler is a stupid happy pow ski that likes to jib. the bent chetler is certainly lighter, but lacks that extra touch of versatility. those are my votes for jibby pow fantastic-ness this year.

then again, sage has been skiing the bent chetlers to great reviews, so who knows, maybe it can charge, im just wayyyy too big to charge it- it might do more than just jib.

And he skied them in the Orage Masters. You'd be surprised at how versatile they ski. Even switch with the tip rocker being so big. Me rikey.
