1 car for $10,000, what would it be?

My dad got a 2000 volvo v70 ( the wagon) last winter. After 7000$ of repairs over a 3 month period, he gave up and sold the peice of shit. My neighbors had the same problem with their brand new V70... moral of the story : volvo's are madd steeze, but big repair bills.

fucking bmw man. id go for about a 2003 318i. or a z mcoupe, but those are probably gonna be significantly more than 10gs, cause they made like a thousand.

and whoever said lambo, youre retarded. lambos are 100 G's +.

if you knew anything, you'd know that ever since the volvo car division got bought by Ford, it has gone downhill. Anything older than before the buy is mint, while everything after is the same as every other north american car, shit.

yeah dude, don't listen to these kids about trucks unless you live super close to the mountains and anything else you could need. Gas is a bitch, it really adds up, and the cost of going somewhere is always in the back of your mind. I have an old jeep that gets 20mph, which is good for an SUV, but i'd definitely take a smaller car with 4wheel drive over it any day. Definitely try to get a stick though, more fun to drive, better gas mileage, and cheaper to repair/maintain. Also, the added control of the stick is pretty helpful on shitty roads etc.

no dude, u can get above a 4.0... honors and ap classes add .025 to ur gpa for each class, so i think the highest anyone can get in hs is around a 4.4

i was dumb getting my car...i have a 97 integra that i got 2 years ago for 11 gs... now i know that i should have spent 2000 more for the '02 subu rs 2.5... haha yea im dumb

Get either a raised toyota pickup truck, a Volvo v70 XC, any subaru (preferably a forester) or a jeep grand cherokee.

Those are your best choices.

its just an Mcoupe. yea, I have a E36 (1994 325i) but although it has traction control, its still not as good as a 4 wheel drive car in the snow. if it really maens that much to him

you might be able to find a 2000 325xi. that would be a kickass car to have

Saabs are one of the most easiest cars to fix, you don't know what you're talking about.

My recommendations:

Saab 1999-2001 9-5 (extremely reliable)

Volvo V70, late 90s (nice wagons)

Audi A4 Quattro, late 90s (awd)

I would personally go with the saab 9-5, theyre the most reliable used car you can buy according to consumer reports, and they're dope cars. I drive a saab.

I don't really care much for foreign cars. I drive a 98 S-10. Bought it brand new and never have any problems. Done all the maintenence myself and other than just the routine stuff, it's never let me down. Then again whenever you buy any used car, you never know how they've treated it. Don't buy cars from young drivers though, especially teenagers cuz they tend fuck em up that's usually why they're selling them.

k well for my bro he hated his 95 saab because it was hard to get the parts sketchy and unreliable seriously nothing compares to the reliableness if thats a word of Subarus

Well if you go to the dealer for everything they'll rip your ass off. You needa go to a saab specialist garage and they'll take care of you.

Besides, the kind of people that tear cars up don't drive saabs.

For 10k I would get a nice european car, not some piece of trash old asian one.

haha yes subarus are a piece right they actually keep their valuse better than most every other car but shyea i agree audis and volvos aren't bad but you are not going to get as good of a mountain car out of an audi for the money

asian cars are some of the most reliable in the world... toyota and honda mainly. subaru is hella good too... i would drive a wrx or regular impreza over a saab or volvo any day. besides, those are all expensive cars. it would be pretty hard to find one in good condition for 10k or less

you guys all drive faggot bitch cars.. most of you , civics are gay volkswagons are pretty homo.. be a man, get a tacoma or something , a jeep something you dont have to worry about in the snow. i LOVE passing all your little fucking cars on my way to the resort. its only a 10 minute drive but still fun.

naw... integra man...

haha i was jk if there was snow tho... i would lose for sure. i did get some good practice last year in reno tho... good times

i got a 1999 awd audi a4 2.8 liter engine with leather interior, 6cd changer and bose sound system upragde for 10 grand. the car had 77,000 miles but the engine only had 22,000. And the car doesn't even have anything wrong with it. I feel bad for how much I ripped off the guy.

jesus most of you guys have some rich ass taste. also a lot of misleading info in this thread. look i love nice european cars as much as the next guy but the dude has 10k to spend on a car. that is a lot of money and i think that if you dump it all into a farily high mileage(even if its not too old) BMW or audi or something your gonna be disapointed later on. they are expensive cars and when the time comes your gonna have to pay for expensive repairs and parts. you can get some great fairly new low mileage vehicles for 10k. i say think about what type of car you want first. suv, truck, wagon, van, coupe or sedan. then what features your looking for like fwd, awd, 4wd, gas mileage, auto or manual. see what models you like and look around on autotrader.com or cars.com, i dont suggest ebay just because its a horrible source to accurately get prices from. your lucky your parents are hookin you up with all that money man you should really look around before you drop it all on some 10 year old bmw or audi.

beamers last forever though man, just like volvo's. My dads had a couple volvos and a beamer that he's sold used and he hasnt sold one under 250k miles on any of them. Beamers are expensive to fix, but they will live a long time.

thats a deal right there. im not a fan of auto trannys but with that mileage and that buy it now price its a good buy. even comes with a cold air intake and fart can already installed
