1-5,500 chance of astroid hitting earth in 2036

You know, NASA could tell us an asteroid was going to hit us next year, make the whole thing up, create a bunch of hype and then save the world by sending some hero astronauts into space and say that they diverted the thing...and no one would ever know the difference.

worst piece of journalism ever. "smallish asteroid" what a load of crap. i nearly pissed myself laughing so hard at the last paragraph

"We're sitting in a shooting gallery, with hundreds of thousands of these things whizzing around in the inner solar system. So it's just a matter of time,"

ya, our solar system is a shooting gallery.- classic

Well its actually true. There ARE hundreds of thousands of these things whizzing around in the inner solar system. That being said, the inner solar system is so freakin big that it doesn't matter. Its like a hundred thousand grains of sand floating in an area the size of the earth, are they likely to hit one another? Nope. Is it just a matter of time? Yes, but the timeframe could be extremely large rendering it pretty much irrelavent.

they shouldnt have even posted it then... we should havesecretly made it hit china instead of us

Don't forget the "Bible Code" is predicting a massive nuclear war in 2006.

This is the kind of trash news groups put out when there is nothing going on. Its all horse shit. So nothing exciting (by exciting I mean ratings grabber) is going on in the world...what do they do? They crap out another overplayed end-of-the-world scenario.

holy crud dude, we haven't been to the moon?

you should talk to scientists in california that, 260 somthing days out of the year, shoot a laser to the first monn landing, where there is a mirror, that reflects the laser back, to measure distance to the moon, at other such things...

i am not too worried, it said it would take out NYC and the surrounding area, well i dont like in NYC or surrounding area so i feel alright

"You don't want to send up Bruce Willis and others to save us. That's Hollywood silliness," he said, chuckling." I chuckled at that.
